Through the "magic" of technology, today's pre-order celebration for "Sons of Gold and Fire" became a release party. π
The good news is that you get to meet Skrunt and catch up with your (hopefully) favorite boy and his dragon a couple of weeks earlier than expected. You know where to find it.
@MissPookems Eye of the Beholder. When that came out, it was like the most awesome thing we'd ever seen, and it was a great game. Almost impossible to beat if you didn't find the beholder eyestalk.
@MillerDakotaJ Different world than it was even 10 years ago. People tell me "there are jobs everywhere; you must not want to work." I've been working since I was 15. Great track record, 35 years experience. I've applied for close to 100 jobs since I got laid off. One interview.
@JohnOkure10871 Pythagoras and the Dragon. That and Oregon Trail were the two we got when our school got a computer. Everyone else wanted to play OT, but I always went for Pythagoras. Oddly, I suck at math. π
@stephenRB4 It really gets you nowhere these days. I was always taught to do my job and let my work speak for itself, but I quickly learned in the corporate world that the people who crow about themselves the most are the ones that get the promotions, deserving or not. I suck at that.
@ZaneVoss That's awesome to hear. Here's what the little guy looks like. Nothing fancy. There will be one in every bag, in a whole bunch of different colors, but only the one gold one.
Making up a few LibertyCon goodie bags. Each will have a bookmark, con ribbon, doubloon, dragon friend, and a couple of treats. If you're going to be at LC, make plans to visit me in Author Alley. First come, first served. If you draw the gold dragon, it gets you a free book.
@TempusMalleo The yellow journalism aside, they could just, you know, do what most of us will do and not buy it instead of running to the government to protect them from something that they don't have to buy in the first place. *sigh*
I am so stoked by the positive feedback @JohnSiers7987 and I have received about our story "Aurora" in Anthromech by @CKPBooks. If you enjoy science fiction stories where humanity has the last say over the machines, check out this awesome collection! https://t.co/jqSceLNBDp
And if you're a fan of the Lunar Free State, don't worry. There's more to come!
@MillerDakotaJ Some of the conversations I had with professors in my newspaper days. AP style is to only use Dr. for a medical doctor. The professors at the local universities did not like that at all, and they were vocal about it. π
@TempusMalleo Yeah, I've always thought the McDonald's redesign was mean to push people toward the drive-through, at least the one near my house. The space is awkward and uncomfortable, and you have to go find someone to give you a refill. And I do mean, find, because they're hiding.
@afringedgentian@mcahogarth@MichaelFKane Most of the small presses I buy from run $3.99-$5.99 on ebooks. My books through Raconteur are $4.99 ebook and $14.99 paper. One of the reasons I started drifting toward indies 7-8 years ago was the trad guys charging hc prices for ebooks.
Out this week if all goes to plan, and look who got "top billing" on the cover. (Pretty sure that's not really how it works, but I'm rolling with it.) π
@SavageLeeBeaten@mrmikeMTL Mine's also 21. Refused the drink I tried to buy him on his birthday. His friends are all 20-23. None of them seem to have any interest in it. I don't think bar prices are all that's different. I drank like a fish at his age, and I rarely went to bars and usually only for music.
