Now that the dust has settled (and the news has finally settled in just a little!) I am absolutely overjoyed to announce I have accepted an offer of pupillage at @gardencourtlaw on their Crime-Specialist Pupillage starting in Autumn 2024.
I am so incredibly grateful for this opportunity & excited for everything this pupillage will throw at me!
I would like to thank those who provided so much support to me throughout applications, particularly my partner @ElliotHowaSpi, & all of my wonderful colleagues at @SMW_Law

Teenager acquitted by jury of murdering his Grandma after jury accept defence of diminished responsibility.
Sarah Elliott KC @sebarrister & Kate O'Raghallaigh @koraghallaigh successfully defended the 19 year old accused of murdering his grandmother in Brighton during lockdown...
SMW client unanimously acquitted at Lewes CC of murdering his grandmother. David Sonn, Leah Connolly and Freddy Legg instructed Sarah Elliott KC and Kate O’Raghallaigh.
A 16 year old girl has been murdered, taken from her friends and family when her life was only just beginning. I cannot fathom the callousness involved in making the editorial decision to violate her dignity in death.
Disgusting from @thetimes.
This is welcome news, but we do wonder why solicitors are not receiving 15% on the rates given an independent review recommended precisely that. Prosecution and defence should rightly have parity when it comes to rates, but sadly the scales of justice remain imbalanced.
Dominic Thomas’s client receives exceptional suspended sentence of imprisonment for possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence at Southwark Crown Court today. Dominic was privately instructed by Amy Cox, head of litigation at Sonn Macmillan Walker.
