@MrsIglesiasRKLB@RocketLab As we've seen with recent Blue Origin mishap, having more than one launchpad is invaluable. Question is whether Vandy pad can serve as a meaningful backup. The RFI itself claims that SLC-9 is better suited for small launch (idk why?). Also Vandy better for SSO/Polar orbit.
@TrevorScottReal Agreed! IMO, while V12.6 is fun, it's got enough rough edges that I find myself still needing to baby it most of the times. If V14 Lite even slightly reduces the amount of supervision needed from me, I'll be happy at this point. Low bar, I know.
@UntappedAlpha@ParadisLabs Logically, the explosion has nothing to do with Rocket Lab. But when the public sees rocket go kaboom, panic follows.
If anything, the mishap validates rockets are hard and ramping cadence harder, something RL has done with Electron. We’ll see if they can do the same with Neutron
@mehtasdeepak Serenity mentioned reducing exposure after the May 12 20M share offering so short term thesis has changed and the two month return is probably null at this point. Could still be a good longer term play though.
@crux_capital_ This is how I feel in general with good quality but non-AI companies. They seem to be underperforming in this climate but good investments nonetheless. My wife owns a bunch of $COST, YTD a paltry 20% gain haha.
The interstage achieved qualification load (approximately 125% of flight load) but ultimately tested to failure. Not part of the plan, but not entirely unexpected either as we validate design margins. This result gives us added conviction to the overall design and hardware for the next one, which is already in the factory. Currently, no expected impact to schedule.
@ParadisLabs Yes SpaceX S-1 gives us a good idea of where we might be headed. They estimate beginning deployment of orbital AI compute as early as 2028. Combine this with statements from Blue Origin, Rocket Lab, etc., certainly a domain to keep an eye on.
@HowardInvests Appreciate you churning out these videos so quickly! You're quickly becoming one of my go-to sources for $RKLB analysis.
Very excited to see what other opportunities this opens up with the USSF.
@spacepat_o Curious to know if this was a flight or test hardware. Their Q1 presentation mentions "before it's shipped to LC3 for further assembly", which implies to me this hardware was not supposed to fail at this stage.
@KevZag@RocketLab Interview with the Planetary Society: https://t.co/nfHih7Px0Q
Peter Beck: Oh no, don't count it out. It is happening. I'm the chief funder of that project these days, but no, that project is absolutely happening ..."
@KevZag@RocketLab Peter Beck mentioned in a recent interview (can't remember which off top of my head) that the Venus mission is definitely still happening but they're prioritizing customer paying project first.
Interesting. Eric writes:
"Newer medium-lift vehicles, such as Rocket Lab’s Neutron ... are likely at least 12 months from their debuts".
That'd put first $RKLB Neutron flight in ~May 2027. I certainly hope we don't wait that long.
The stakes for this week's Starship launch are high. The US commercial space industry is depending on lower launch costs and higher capacity. NASA’s lunar ambitions, to a great degree, hinge on its success. And the stakes are highest of all for SpaceX.

@ChristianSelig Yes please. Would totally replace my current Apple Watch with one. I can also then wear my non-smart watch on my other wrist. I’ve always felt weird wearing two wristwatches…
@daveginvesting Do you think this is the catalyst that helps unlock the $SATS -> SpaceXAI IPO proxy trade you theorized in your past video? Or we're still too early?
@RKLBMan Agreed. ASTS is much younger than RKLB.
RKLB founded 2006, IPO 2021
ASTS founded 2017, IPO 2021
So RKLB has had more time to prove their engineering prowess and leadership and their stock has been rewarded. Jury's still out on ASTS. I hope they succeed as I own shares.
