We’ve received a formal response from Carpe Diem, located in Dallas, regarding their use of the unauthorized event name “AfroTeenth.” Upon receiving notice from the Freedmen Reparations Fund Trust, Carpe Diem has agreed to remove the flyer and instruct the promoter to rename the event in compliance with the Trust’s cultural certification authority.

We appreciate their cooperation and swift action to correct this violation.

People showed up during the George Floyd protests to co-opt them and make it all about the agendas they were pushing.
