It was great to present Greg Mingo with a Senate proclamation for his volunteer work building affordable housing for people after incarceration, giving out free food at a farmstand with the Sing Sing Family Collective, and much more!

Greg Mingo served 40 years in prison, on a wrongful conviction, and received clemency from the former governor. Happy to join The People’s Campaign for Parole Justice today!

Clemency recipients Lee Chalk, Greg Mingo and Judy Clark, w/ Elaine Lord, former Supt. of Bedford Hills women's prison, make the case for clemency. Together, Lee, Greg and Judy served 108 years. W/o clemency, they were sentenced to die in prison. The time is now @KathyHochul
Who better to make the case for clemency than those who received it? https://t.co/iz34pSybHj Together, the members of the Clemency Collective served almost 500 years in prison. W/o clemency most were destined to perish inside. Save lives @KathyHochul
We’re outside the gates of the Sing Sing prison in the Hudson Valley today volunteering to share food from Sing Sing Collective with families visiting loved ones.
While the package ban is still in effect we are doing our best to support families with fresh fruits and 🥦 🥕!
Gregory Mingo served nearly four decades in prison before he was granted "the miracle of clemency" by former Governor Cuomo.
Since his release last September, Mingo has advocated for criminal justice reform focused on the state's parole laws.

“Inside, there's so little to do, and there's so much time to do it,” says 69-year-old Gregory Mingo, who served nearly four decades in prison before being granted clemency. “And out here, there's so much to do and there's so little time to do it.”

Greg Mingo was wrongfully convicted and did 40 years in NY prisons. A grassroots effort convinced Cuomo to grant him clemency. Now, Greg builds affordable re-entry housing and works with us as a leader in the push to free those he left behind. https://t.co/K7UZ8esSjq via @arunNYC
“I spent 40 years in prison. A week before I was released a friend of mine died after spending 45 years inside. He died from hopelessness. We have to get these bills passed for him and so many others like him. This is a human rights issue.” -RAPP leader @FreeGregMingo
Another powerful day in Albany. Huge shoutout to all the justice-loving New Yorkers from across the state who joined us today in support of #ParoleJusticeNY
MUST READ: Family members of people who died in NY State prisons under the watch of Acting Commissioner Anthony Annucci say it's time for Annucci to go. "There just has been no accountability. I have no confidence in Annucci at all." https://t.co/JTq1hK7Pry
.@GovKathyHochul responded to Eva by saying that she’s trying to do things differently and says that she is working on it. Our loved ones have no time to waste. We need #ClemencyNow#HochulBringThemHome
NOW: We’re outside one of @GovKathyHochul’s events asking her to grant #ClemencyNow. RAPP Leader Eva, whose husband has served 27 years in prison, asks Gov. Hochul to please bring our loved ones home.
.@RAPPcampaign community leader Greg Mingo speaks now, "I'm one of the elders that was brought home. I was granted clemency on Cuomo's last day in office.. I lived for 40 yrs inside the prison system. There's so many elders waiting to come home and give back to their community."
