طبق اطلاع تشکل‌های صنفی و دانشجویی دانشگاه، خبر بازداشت او به دلیل فشار مزدوران امنیتی جمهوری اسلامی بر خانواده‌اش تاکنون منتشر نشده‌بود و حتی نزدیک‌ترین دوستانش هم از ربوده‌شدن او بی‌اطلاع بودند.

جمهوری اسلامی بقای خود را در سرکوب مردم ایران، به‌خصوص دانشجویان و نخبگان می‌داند تا به غارت ثروت مردم ایران ادامه دهد.

I’m not going to lie, I had no idea there was so much anger towards her 👀
I always viewed Masih Alinejad as a great activist for human rights, etc.
I heard whispers amongst Iranian people about her. That they didn’t trust her. An Iranian friend of mine explained some stuff about her a while ago.
In my head I figured that if she just focused on her activism, there’s no harm done.

But her tweet against Reza Pahlavi helped me truly understand why there is such anger towards her.
She had no reason to say what she said. Like, why would you do that?
Reza Pahlavi is CLEARLY the person the Iranian people are looking to. The one that unites them, and unity is everything.

The tweet came across like she’s putting herself on a pedestal.
One that was not given to her by the people.
It makes her activism look like a tool to gain popularity/name recognition.

I’m not saying this is the case. I’m sure some of you know much better than me.
It’s just what it looks like.

I see why so many people fail to understand the Iranian issue.
It’s layered, with so many nuances.

The regime is amazing at propaganda and creating division/chaos.
So the Iranian people have had to become masters at sniffing out sh*t

I completely condemn any threats against you or your family. Violence has no place in this.

That said, I have some real questions for you in good faith.

1- You proudly call yourself an American, your own mother has said in a voice recording that you’re “an American with Iranian origins,” not “Iranian.” Fair enough.
So why do you lean so hard on your Iranian roots during campaigns? Why play the “daughter of immigrants who fled the regime” card for votes and sympathy points if you don’t actually identify as Iranian-American and seem indifferent to the concerns of actual Iranian-Americans on foreign policy toward Iran?

2- You’ve said military action against Iran lacks “justification.” Really?
The regime has slaughtered tens of thousands of its own people, carried out executions, torture, crushing protests in blood. If that’s not justification in your book, how did you square that in 2013 when you signed a public letter arguing the world had a duty to militarily intervene in Syria because Assad was slaughtering Syrians?
Wouldn't that put American servicemen and women in danger?
Are Iranian lives worth less?
Do the Iranian-American families with relatives still trapped over there not matter to you?
Or was that possibly because in 2013 a Democrat President was in the office?

3- You accepted the endorsement from the National Iranian American Council (NIAC), a group widely seen in the Iranian diaspora as the “Iran Lobby.”
Its founder, Trita Parsi, got exposed in court discovery years ago for repeated contacts with the Iranian regime. The judge didn’t even dispute that his work aligned with advocating for the regime.
So why take their endorsement and donations from figures tied to that circle (including NIAC and Quincy Institute types)?
If you’re just a straight-up American who doesn’t play the Iranian card… why align with people whose agenda looks a lot like softening pressure on the mullahs?
Could that possibly be because your work aligns with NIAC and Trita Parsi's agenda which according to the Judge "is not inconsistent with the idea that he was first and foremost an advocate for the regime."?

If you truly see yourself only as American, stop selectively using your Iranian heritage when it benefits you politically to play the oppression narrative or score points while ignoring the very real fears and lived experiences of the Iranian-American community that actually cares about liberating Iran from this regime.
