This morning, I attended the press conference hosted by Hon. Naike Gruppioni at the Chamber of Deputies, titled "Iran: The Right to Life in Danger," which was attended by the Vice President of the Chamber, Hon. Fabio Rampelli, Senator Marco Scurria, and the President of FIDU, Prof. Antonio Stango, with the online participation of the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance in Iran (NCRI), Ms. @Maryam_Rajavi, and moderated by journalist Mauro Bazzucchi. With her authoritative address, President Rajavi confirms herself, today more than ever, as the most authoritative voice for stirring honest consciences and revealing how deeply the Ayatollahs’ regime affects not only the dire conditions in which the Iranian people are forced to live, but also the current scenarios of ongoing international crises. We must dare name things for what they are: for decades we have been witnessing a “great deception.” A veil of lies and appeasement has allowed a Nazi-fundamentalist regime to thrive, relying on systematic violence against its own people, racism, anti-Semitism, and the export of terrorism across the Middle East and beyond. The blame for this decline lies not only upon the criminals in power in Tehran, but also upon those at the international level who have chosen to “turn a blind eye” for reasons that are far from being transparent. The covert nuclear program is a glaring example of this hypocrisy. While the regime denied all charges, it was the MEK/PMOI that first exposed the mullahs’ nuclear plans as early as 2002. I recalled how, even in 2008, the Iranian Resistance had warned the world at the United Nations about the horrors of a nuclear arsenal in the hands of an aggressive and terrorist theocracy.
The consequences of this “great deception” have become unsustainable for the entire international community, with: threats to freedom of navigation and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, whereby the regime blackmails the world by closing the straits, starving the people, and blocking access to energy resources and food supplies; internal repression, while the regime tortures and executes genuine dissidents, we witness the farce of “fake opponents” living in luxury abroad, ready to smile for the cameras without having any connection to the Iranian people. On the contrary, the strength of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) lies in having built a credible proposal. There is no more time for appeasement or for temporary solutions that “grant” conditional and trickle-down transit through the Strait of Hormuz, rationed by Tehran.
History teaches us that there will be neither peace nor stability unless the regime is removed by an internal force and through a decision by the entire Iranian population. In this regard, I have emphasized how the expectations for a form of government that guarantees freedom, equality, and democratic pluralism in the country are fulfilled in the proposal supported by the NCRI for several years through its “10-Point Plan.” An Iran that renounces its military nuclear program, respects international law, is committed to the fight against terrorism and the prevention of the illegitimate use of force, and establishes relations with all countries in the region on the basis of security and peace.
Finally, I invited the participants to honor the tens of thousands of dissidents and protesters killed in recent years. Many of them sacrificed their lives to affirm their membership in the People’s Mujahedin Organization. There was much clamour over the photograph circulated by the international press, showing six death row inmates who were able to pass it out of the prison where they were being held—awaiting execution—while displaying the emblems of the MEK/PMOI and images of leader Maryam Rajavi.
The statistics are chilling: 2,159 death sentences in 2025 and already 700 executions in the first months of 2026. In the wake of this river of blood, any attempt to engage in dialogue proposed by those seeking to replace the current regime through a transition process involving active participation by security forces—currently designated by the international community as terrorist organizations—would constitute yet another grave deception, first and foremost against the Iranian people.
The problem of Iran can be solved only by the Iranian people and its truly democratic components, who have demonstrated the determination to resist the regime and to change the country at the cost of their own blood.

Why does the regime conduct daily executions in Iran?
The daily executions are driven by the regime's sheer fear of the Iranian people and their uprisings. Yet, it has utterly failed, and will always fail, to intimidate an outraged public.

On the contrary, the defiance of the PMOI members, who broadcast their messages and sing anthems on the very brink of execution, has inspired Iran’s youth to resist even further. They pledge to press forward until this regime is overthrown.

Ho partecipato stamane, alla Conferenza stampa promossa dall'On. Naike Gruppioni alla Camera dei Deputati, dal titolo "Iran: Il diritto alla vita in pericolo", alla quale hanno aderito il Vicepresidente della Camera, On. Fabio Rampelli, il Senatore Marco Scurria e il Presidente della FIDU, Prof. Antonio Stango, con la partecipazione online della Presidente-eletta del Consiglio Nazionale della Resistenza in Iran CNRI, Sig.ra @Maryam_Rajavi e moderata dal giornalista Mauro Bazzucchi. Con il suo autorevole intervento la Presidente Rajavi si conferma, oggi più che mai, quale voce più autorevole per scuotere le coscienze oneste e rivelare quanto il regime degli ayatollah incida profondamente non solo sulle gravi condizioni in cui il popolo iraniano è costretto a vivere, ma anche sugli scenari attuali delle crisi internazionali in atto. Dobbiamo avere il coraggio di chiamare le cose con il loro nome: da decenni assistiamo a un "grande inganno". Un velo di falsità, e accondiscendenza, che ha permesso a un regime nazi-fondamentalista di prosperare, basandosi sulla violenza sistematica contro il proprio popolo, sul razzismo, sull'antisemitismo e sull'esportazione del terrorismo in Medio Oriente e altrove. La responsabilità di questa deriva ricade non solo sui criminali al potere a Teheran, ma anche su chi, a livello internazionale, ha preferito "non vedere" per interessi poco trasparenti. Il programma nucleare clandestino è l'esempio lampante di questa ipocrisia. Mentre il regime negava ogni addebito, è stata l'organizzazione del MEK/PMOI a svelare fin dal 2002 i piani atomici dei mullah. Ho ricordato come alle Nazioni Unite, ancora nel 2008, la Resistenza iraniana avesse messo in guardia il mondo sugli orrori di un arsenale nucleare in mano a una teocrazia aggressiva e terrorista.
Oggi, le conseguenze di questo "grande inganno" sono diventate insostenibili per l'intera comunità internazionale con: minacce alla libertà di navigazione e blocco di Hormuz, attraverso le quali il regime ricatta il mondo chiudendo gli stretti, affamando i popoli e bloccando l'accesso a risorse energetiche e derrate alimentari; repressione interna, mentre il regime tortura e giustizia i veri dissidenti, assistiamo alla messinscena di "finti oppositori" che vivono nel lusso all'estero, pronti a sorridere alle telecamere senza avere alcun legame con il popolo iraniano. Al contrario, il punto di forza del Consiglio Nazionale della Resistenza Iraniana (CNRI) risiede nell'aver costruito una proposta credibile. Non c'è più tempo per appeasement o per soluzioni temporanee che "concedano" transiti condizionati e con il contagocce attraverso lo Stretto di Hormuz, contingentati da Teheran.
La storia ci insegna che non ci sarà pace né stabilità se il regime non verrà rimosso da una forza interna e da un pronunciamento dell'intera popolazione iraniana. Ho sottolineato, a tale riguardo, quanto le aspettative per una forma di governo che garantisca libertà, eguaglianza e pluralismo democratico nel Paese, trovino accoglimento nella proposta sostenuta, da diversi anni, dal CNRI con il "Piano in 10 punti". Un Iran che rinuncia al programma nucleare militare, rispettoso del diritto internazionale impegnato nella lotta al terrorismo e nel contrasto all'uso illegittimo della forza e nello stabilire i rapporti con tutti i paesi della regione su basi di sicurezza e di pace.
Ho, infine, invitato i partecipanti a rendere omaggio alle decine di migliaia di dissidenti e manifestanti uccisi negli ultimi anni. Molti di loro sacrificatisi per affermare l'appartenenza all'Organizzazione dei Mujaheddin del Popolo. Ha destato infatti molto clamore la fotografia, diffusa dalla stampa internazionale, di 6 condannati a morte che sono riusciti a far uscire dal carcere in cui erano rinchiusi - in attesa di essere giustiziati - mentre mostravano gli stemmi del MEK/PMOI e le immagini della leader Maryam Rajavi.
Le cifre sono agghiaccianti: 2.159 condanne a morte nel 2025 e già 700 esecuzioni nei primi mesi del 2026. Davanti a questo fiume di sangue, ogni tentativo di dialogo proposto da chi si candida a sostituire l'attuale regime mediante transizioni che comporterebbero il pieno coinvolgimento di quelle strutture di sicurezza, attualmente qualificate dalla comunità internazionale quali organizzazioni terroristiche, sarebbe un ulteriore grave inganno, in primo luogo nei confronti del popolo iraniano.
Il problema dell'Iran può essere risolto solo dal popolo iraniano e dalle sue componenti veramente democratiche che hanno dimostrato la volontà di resistere al regime e di cambiare il paese con il loro stesso sangue.
