Vancouver-based women calling for the immediate release of Saudi women’s rights activists, including our friend from @UBC, Loujain Alhathloul. #FreeLoujain
We are so grateful for everyone who stood with us in the movement to #FreeLoujain.
After 1,001 days of imprisonment, @LoujainHathloul has been released.
Thank you for being a part of this fight. Your voice and actions contributed to this huge win.
This child is celebrating his 12th birthday today in a prison cell in #Bahrain.
I was told since his arrest on Monday (8th Feb), he only called his parents once on Tuesday. No family visits allowed.
How dare a judge have ordered his detention for 7 days.

The release of Saudi women's rights activist Loujain al-Hathloul is an important, but long overdue, development.
Loujain’s torture and three-year imprisonment was an outrage, and she should be freed from restrictions on her speech and travel by Saudi authorities.
Despite Loujain al-Hathloul's release from prison, as well as reportedly Nouf Abdelaziz, they still face many risks/restrictions. Gov'ts should continue calling for dropping all charges and unconditional release of all detained Saudi human rights defenders https://t.co/YDbAlzcb34
Grateful thar @cbcnews and @NatashaFatah shone a light tonight on @LoujainHathloul's case.
It is a true joy and relief to know that Loujain has finally been released but she is till not fully free. Let's keep all eyes on Loujain until she is finally, truly free.
Today, after 1,001 days behind bars, our friend Loujain Hathloul Alhathloul was released from prison!
It's impossible to describe the level of joy and relief that. But above all, I feel so much gratitude. I am so grateful for every single person in the #FreeLoujain movement.
🚨Women rights defender @LoujainHathloul was released from prison today in🇸🇦#SaudiArabia after 1000 days of arbitrary detention! #ForFreedom ✌️
BUT let's all remember it's only conditional release and she is under travel ban.
📢All harassment against her must immediately stop!
An important reminder. @LoujainHathloul may be released from prison this week but her fight for freedom will continue even when she is no longer behind bars. #FreeLoujain
There aren't enough words to describe the immense joy and relief we feel in this moment.
Our friend @LoujainHathloul will finally be free.
Thank you to the thousands of people across the world who fought to keep Loujain's case in the public eye.

#SaudiArabia: Conviction and 5yrs 8 month sentence handed down to prominent women’s rights campaigner #LoujainAlHathloul, already arbitrarily detained for 2 ½ years, is also deeply troubling. We understand early release is possible, and strongly encourage it as matter of urgency.
Alhathloul’s activism included calling for women’s right to drive before it was granted in 2018 and the removal of male guardianship laws that stifled women’s freedom of movement and ability to travel abroad.
