For the record, the President of the Eurogroup, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, took part in his official capacity at the 72nd #Bilderberg Conference, which took place at the Salamander Hotel in Washington D.C. from April 9 to 12, 2026.

Speaking ahead of his participation in the meeting, Minister Pierrakakis said:
"The situation in the Middle East highlights just how exposed our interconnected economies are to external shocks. The current economic challenges constitute global challenges. In this context, the G7 finance ministers meeting offers an important opportunity for the European Union to engage in dialogue with its international partners and find joint solutions that benefit the global economy.
Opening the Strait of Hormuz and bringing the conflict to a lasting end are of the utmost importance in mitigating the impact on the economy. The European economy has proven resilient in the face of this energy crisis. Yet, the global economy will feel the pressure – even if the conflict is resolved swiftly.
Global macroeconomic imbalances must be viewed in a broader context. The EU’s agenda to deepen our capital markets and make the European economy more investible will contribute to more sustainable levels of macroeconomic imbalances. However, reducing the imbalances is a shared responsibility of all major economic regions."

Some of my followers pointed out that two other Dutch nationals participated in the 72nd Bilderberg Conference, which took place at the Salamander Hotel in Washington, D.C., from April 9 to 12, 2026, in addition to those mentioned in the post below. These were NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and his Chief of Staff, Geoffrey van Leeuwen.

That's correct, and I thank them for it. However, it's worth noting that they attended the meeting as international guests, not as Dutch citizens.

Both had previously attended the 2025 Bilderberg Conference together in Stockholm (see below).
Before that, Mark Rutte had already participated in 10 such meetings when he was Prime Minister of the Netherlands.

Some of my followers rightly pointed out that the selfie of Rob Jetten and Sigrid Kaag couldn't have been taken from the terrace of the Salamander Hotel, but rather from the Ohio Drive Bridge. I thank them for their clarification.
Nevertheless, it was taken during the 72nd Bilderberg Conference.
This gives me the opportunity to specify that this was Ms. Kaag's fifth such meeting.

She attended four Bilderberg Meetings between 2018 and 2024, as Dutch Minister of Foreign Trade, Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister of the Netherlands, and UN Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator for Gaza.

Below, upon her arrival in Lisbon for the 2023 Bilderberg Conference, when she was Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister, accompanied by the then Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, who has since become Secretary General of NATO.
