Now used for updates on Pearl ("Red") & uplifting women at Logan + prisoners across IL DOC!
Editors: M and T
Pearl just received a letter commuting her sentence and ordering her release from @GovPritzker! Pearl will soon be free! 🕊
To everyone who has written or called in support, thank you. We celebrate Pearl’s freedom while continuing the fight for those are still incarcerated ✊
🚨🚨🚨 Jessica’s Supreme Court date is coming up!!! If you’re in Chicago/IL please show up to show your support, it’s crucial that the judges see that Jessica has people waiting for her to come home. You can watch the livestream if you can’t be there in person too!
she has $6000 left of her goal and is headed to the Illinois Supreme Court, this is her last shot (legally) and we need to show up for her! she’s been through so much for 18 years and this holiday season has been heartbreaking, seeing ppl support her monthly is so uplifting ❤️🔥
before the year ends I wanted to start a lil program so that folks can donate monthly to support Jessica’s fight for her freedom and here it is! sign up at https://t.co/gJ7OhQm8ZJ to get reminders/updates but also donate NOW to match $1500!!!!!! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
To that end, we are fundraising another $700 for the month to pay her attorney for the appeal process. Jessica has been incarcerated for 21 years and it's time for her to come out! Please donate/share to get her free ❣️
$266/700!!! I feel like this is moving slow especially during this time of year because people are already spending more money on gifts/holidays, but keep survivors like Jessica in mind too. Please donate/share if you can!
December! 🚨 took a break last month but we are back, with $2k+ to raise. Can we get to $700 (and hopefully more) for the holidays? Please donate/share if you can!
Montese, a wonderful young person whom we met through Reunification Ride was shot & killed on Saturday. His loving mom, Dyanna Winchester, came home less than a year ago, & now must raise the funds for his home-going. Pls share; donate if you can: https://t.co/mTLhsvGZVy
Some good news—Red is done with her 6th (and FINAL!) cancer treatment after so many long months! Now on to a bunch of tests to (hopefully) confirm that it’s all gone.
Jessica confirmed this Saturday during our video visit. She was only 21 years old… the other 2 women are sitting in the hole and are likely to be charged with murder, when she was in IDOC’s custody and care as a prisoner.
The only real safety/solution is to #FreeThemAll, always. No idea what her name is, but I hope she rests in peace and that her memory is a blessing to her family. Every death is blood on IDOC’s hands!
Red shared with me that a woman was killed on Unit 4 in Logan. A fight broke out and her leg was broken, yet after she was treated at the infirmary she was brought back to the same unit where she died from a blood clot in her brain after a second beating.
Prison is so brutal, it creates an entirely false sense of safety for us on the outside while endangering everyone locked up. If someone was beat up, who would make the decision to send them back to the same unit? How can our loved ones inside be safe during this pandemic?
Prosecutors keep arguing that clemency should be reserved for "miscarriages of justice." That's bullshit. Clemency is mercy, and we must create space for and normalize mercy every chance we get. #commutation#clemency#mercy#secondchances
Jessica's son's birthday is next Sunday; she should be out here celebrating with him. @FreePearlTuma's daughter passed away a couple yrs ago and the state didn't allow her to see her for the last time or attend her funeral. @AntoineIndy's mom passed away suddenly in 2019 as well.
🎉 September monthly fundraiser! 🎉 Every month we've made the $700 goal, hoping this month will be no different. So far we are $250/700 due to a kind stranger pushing us over the goal last month! At this rate we will get to the BIG goal in a little over 3 months :-)
On June 22, 2021 ppl imprisoned by IDOC received written notice that a new agreement with Securus/JPay would be incoming and to notify loved ones. Ppl were promised same phone rates ($0.01/min), *free* tablets, a phone app for 2-way communication, even voicemails from loved ones.

S&P NY condemns Bedford & Taconic prisons for forcing incarcerated folks to drink toxic water. After a week of tap water being undrinkable, the prisons are still refusing to distribute bottled water & blocking folks from sending water in. https://t.co/d2IjQvwTk4
TODAY is the end of this month and we are stuck at the halfway mark ($350/700) with next month coming up. Please help her reach her goal to continue fighting for her freedom after 21 years by donating and sharing!! #FreeThemAll
