"Individualism, in the end, destroys the group. But in the interim it stimulates personality, mental exploration, and artistic creation. Greek democracy was corrupt and incompetent and had to die. But when it was dead, men realized how beautiful its heyday had been. And all later generations of antiquity looked back to the centuries of Pericles and Plato as the zenith of Grease and of all history."
Great read. The church has a similar dynamic as the liberty movement as a whole. The left wing people eat any successful org. The right wing people then leave and start their own new org from scratch. All the old orgs end up dominated by lefties and are completely unrecognizable to rank and file.
It's a bummer, especially for the church. The old mainline churches are typically the most beautiful building, right in the center of town. The mayor feels obligated to come do a reading at the annual 'Lessons and Carols', etc.
Anyway, many more thoughts. But realizing that winning at politics and winning in religion are basically the same fight.
There is literally and absolutely no such thing as a right or left libertarian. Utterly moronic. Totally orthogonal.

@MorlockP Reminds me of a hack that a female friend taught me years ago: To memorize a 4 digit number (e.g. 7940) imagine a 79 and 40 year old having an affair.
Myth: The Libertarian Party should just support the Republican candidate that will bring the most liberty.
Fact: Outsourcing the message to a major party ruins the leverage of the Libertarian Party. Without a separate, independent party threatening to take votes away, the major parties largely have no incentive to continue their pro-liberty messaging.
