My dad met with the Canadian Consul General in Paris the other day. They're filing a diplomatic complaint over the assault, helping with charges + medical care. They have acknowledged the years of injustice my dad faced.

My mom and I landed in France yesterday. We spent the day with my dad around the neighbourhood.
It was so nice to see him smile and finally have some fresh air.

Now we will continue to work with lawyers to get justice!

My dad was released yesterday after his court appeal. He remains under judicial supervision and can’t leave France for over a year, but he’s finally out of the cell.

Yesterday, my dad waited 10 hours at the local hospital for head scans and X-rays.
My dad begged the guards, nurse, and doctor to take photos of his injuries. They all said they weren’t allowed. He was not able to gather evidence of what they did to him.

The chief of the prison stood behind the gate and watched while it all happened to my dad. He called out to her for help—she ignored him. She hid instead of stopping the violence.
