@Gilshefler Eh, Brightline Florida is a good start, but America needs to nationalize all those poorly maintained tracks controlled by the class 1 freight railroads, and modify its tax code so railroads are not encouraged to tear down existing tracks to save on taxes.

@Gilshefler Eh, the Avelia liberty is literally the American TGV - the issue isn't the train - it's the tracks. Amtrak doesn't own like 95% of the tracks. That's why taking a train to Montreal is 2 hours to Albany@110, then 8 hours for the rest@25 on CN freight tracks.

@J0hnnyXm4s Same reason why Oahu (Hawaii) have expressways upgraded to Federal Interstate highway standards - each endpoint and intersection is either a military base, or a transhipment point. It's also in the same island as 80% of the state population.
