[Bridgeyboo @1bridgeyboo]

People going to be weird about me saying I see using the R-slur as a red flag even among fellow NDs. I know some people don’t see nuance, but I will say, I have never seen it used affectionately or as a friendly term. I’ve only seen it used to imply being disabled -

@JohnDRabbit @vicctre It is considered an unreclaimable by many neurodivergent people given theres no way to use it that isnt inherently demeaning to someone the same way it was historically used to abuse and discriminate against autistic and other neurodivergent people

[Merie Wanderer @FreecssMerie]

@vicctre I hate it whenever they make excellent points just to use the r slur
Like... Wow you're so edgy

[vicctre✨ @vicctre]

Watching a video essay by a small content creator and they call something/someone R*TARDED

with my current platform, allow me tell you about what's happening in Indonesia.

today, massive student-led protests are taking place against the incompetent and self-serving regime.

one of the most pressing issues being raised is the BURNING DOWN of our forests and lands, which has been happening for months. you might have heard about the fires in Kalimantan/Borneo, as neighboring countries also suffer from the haze, but they're happening across other islands too; Sumatra, Papua, Sulawesi, Maluku, and even multiple mountains in Java. beyond the loss of people's homes, clean air, and clean water, we're watching our native wildlife and irreplaceable biodiversity along with centuries-old traditional sites disappear before our eyes.

yet the government has been UNWILLING to take meaningful action. instead, our public servants have been trying to silence our voices online, turning down foreign aid, and waging psywar against other countries, all without even acknowledging the severity of the situation.

budgets for disaster relief, education, and healthcare have been reallocated to the Free Meal Program, the president's flagship campaign promise, which ironically has reportedly poisoned ~40,000 children in less than 2 years, with no one being held accountable.

today, in jakarta alone 14,000 police and military personnel were deployed to confront demonstrators. This is the reality of the repressive, anti-criticism government the Indonesian people are currently facing.
and you know what? WATER CANNONS were prepared. water cannons that have never been used to fight the fires are now being aimed at the people.

today is the Youth Pledge Day, when indonesian youth pledged to fight for freedom 98 years ago.
may this freedom find us again.

Long live resistance.

@KPRC2 The FACT is that more people regret knee replacement surgery than their transition. Republicans are literally dumber than dirt

[burg @_burgburg_]

i do want all of you to be aware that the horrificness that is a detransition clinic will not end with trans people either and we are going to have state sponsored gay conversion camps. HOWEVER that is not when you should start caring. you should care now, yesterday, and tomorrow

[Merie Wanderer @FreecssMerie]

@Diana_L_040975 @Mozes60 Me too, it literally said word, I'm going to think about the words

[Ada(ms) or Ardor @AdamsOrArdor]

I love great writing and hate how it's treated on the internet. So I built something to try to fix that.

If you wish there were a better place to share your writing, to discover new work, to talk culture and books, then I invite you to read—and to join me.

@doctornowhere_ i think people are under the assumption these slopfarms are crediting the actual artist and thus pulling traffic in for you. They are not. The people watching are not looking it up. They do not care because Doctor Nowhere to them is just another character and not the artist

[the doc @doctornowhere_]

I don’t even look my name up on YouTube anymore because it just makes me want to blow my fucking head off

[Merie Wanderer @FreecssMerie]

@Ibtomizedkapsel So pretty...
