Freedom Dogs has strict requirements for puppies that enter our program. Our puppies are placed with one of our trainers at approximately eight weeks of age. Their training begins immediately and continues for two to two-and-a-half years. ๐โ๐ฆบ

Russell is a black male Labrador Retriever who joined Freedom Dogs in May of 2015.ย Russell was named in honor of SSgt. Russell Klika, an award-winning US military combat photographer/ photojournalist. SSgt. Klika was awarded the Army Special Forces Bronze star in 2009. ๐โ๐ฆบ

Through our partner program, a skilled dog/trainer team pairs up and works with a wounded warrior assigned to him or her by the Wounded Warrior Battalion โ West over a period of about nine months.
All dog lovers know how special the bond can be between a dog & his owner, but service dogs take that relationship to a new level. Service dogs provide their companions with a quality of life that would not be possible w/o their assistance, making them truly manโs best friend.
