Only God knows Nima’s intentions but I know that I did the responsible thing declining to be interviewed by him a few months ago.

I declined because just like Ashkenazi Jews, I am a Jew **from** Israel. Our migration patters do not determine our origin.

Anyone who seeks Jewish unity ought to recognize that basic fact. I refused to be a tokenized Mizrahi Jew for antisemites to jubilate over because that is precisely what Nima is doing - it’s harmful and many of his comments ahistorical in nature.

When coming back home to Israel, the land that collectively connects all Jews it’s important to leave diaspora hatred and baggage behind. Is there real community unity that we can work on ? Yes sure. Is attacking other Jews and spreading decontextualized misinformation going to fix that ? Absolutely not.

It is for these above mentioned reasons that I felt responsible to make this video and declined to be interviewed.
