I don't know who needs to hear this, but slavery did NOT benefit any of our enslaved Black ancestors.
It only helped the slave masters who benefitted from hundreds of years of free labor, brutally and violently obtained, flesh, families, and cultures destroyed.
PERIOD.
Unbelievable that has to be explained to youโ๏ธ! What Biden is doing is called reinvesting our tax dollars back into the populace instead of the ultra-wealthy's pockets. Hundreds of millions of Americans depend on our social services, like Social Security, for survival. Your insistence on the contrary only underscores your ignorance, Marjorie.
Republicans consistently distract us with non-issues rather than tackling problems that matter to the majority of Americans.
Over the past half-century, Republican inaction has facilitated a massive $50 trillion wealth transfer from the working class to the top 1%. Republican strategies since the Reagan era have moved this wealth from the middle-class to the rich between 1975 and 2018. Their tax cuts and vast military expenditures have tripled the national debt with little economic return. Current studies indicate an annual $2.5 trillion shift from the working class to the wealthiest 1%.
The Reagan Revolution resulted in workers' wage drops, the end of free education, the rise of big corporations, and deregulation of finance, causing millennials' current struggles with home ownership, business startup, and student debt.
Democrats have opposed these GOP-led, anti-worker policies. Republican politicians are suppressing their voters, favoring the affluent elite over the working class.
The GOP has a base predominantly of white voters uncomfortable with non-white populations, topped by white billionaires who bankroll Republican candidates while seeking to maintain low taxes and high profits. Despite these realities, many Republican voters, blinded by the party's branding and messaging, seem oblivious.
The question is, when will these voters recognize their own subjugation?
The harmful consequences of the past three decades of Republican rule are now glaringly clear:
- Clinton bequeathed a surplus of $63 billion.
- Bush left us with unpaid wars, a $3.3 trillion deficit, a severe recession, and a collapsed housing and stock market.
- Obama inherited this mess, spending trillions to manage unemployment and revive the economy, protecting homes from predatory hedge funds. He left Trump a robust economy.
- Trump, despite benefiting from Obama's groundwork, faltered during adversity. His tax cuts for the ultra-rich and reckless decisions added another $7.8 trillion to our deficit.
Meanwhile, Biden is pushing for manufacturing job resurgence, while Republicans, Kevin included, attempt to obstruct:
- Formulating plans to rejuvenate manufacturing and fortify supply chains.
- Advocating for sustainable economic resilience initiatives.
- Propelling a domestic manufacturing drive through the Export-Import Bank.
- Investing in microchip production and setting aside $200 billion for manufacturing jobs.
- Creating over 750,000 new manufacturing jobs since taking office.
We must vote them out comes 2024. It's the only way to save our young Democratic Republic.

Michelle and I want to thank these librarians for their unwavering commitment to the freedom to read.
I hope youโll read my letter to them, and join me in reminding anyone who will listenโand even some people you think might notโthat the free, robust exchange of ideas has always been at the heart of American democracy.
Together, we can make that true for generations to come. https://t.co/sMDrP8ASsv
Today, some of the books that shaped my lifeโand the lives of so many othersโare being challenged by people who disagree with certain ideas or perspectives. And librarians are on the front lines, fighting every day to make the widest possible range of viewpoints, opinions, and ideas available to everyone.

Arizona Republican Congressman Eli Crane just used the words โcolored peopleโ on the floor of the United States House of Representatives.

We have to stop Republicans from continuing to cheat their way into unchecked power. That starts with #Ohio on August 8th. Letโs shut this undemocratic power grab down. #VoteNo@swingleft
Jack Smith will do his job. Heโll secure the convictions. We have to do ours, to make his time worthwhile. We have to keep republicans out of the White Houseโฆso no pardons can occur.
Bottom line: If we drop the ball, all of Jackโs work will be wiped away with the stroke of a pen.
No excuses. None.
I see some mindless, heartless trump supporting buzzards are once again trying to pick rancid meat off the bones of the story of Hunter Biden's addiction, this time fascinated at the idea that a guy in the grips of his addiction drove 172mph.
Right now, Hunter is in recovery. He has had a hard road back, and will for the rest of his life. How do I know? Because I'm in recovery too -- August 17th will make 20 years. 20 HARD years.
Most people in recovery have the benefit of their worst moments, when they were at their lowest, being hidden from public view. It's between them, their sponsor, their therapist, and their higher power. Nobody else.
I talk about my own repeated battles openly on this platform, well aware that they will be used to throw back in my face. They do it frequently, and will likely do it on this post. That's fine. It's my choice.
I do it because there was a time back in 1994 when I was homeless and hopeless, sitting in a detox not even knowing why I was wasting my time because I figured I'd probably just relapse again after so many failed attempts to get clean.
And then someone came in for a 12-step meeting and told MY story. I heard them say how hopeless they felt until they surrendered to their higher power. And all of a sudden, I had hope again.
So when I tell my story, it is my sincere hope that someone out there will see that same glimmer of hope. Just for today.
Anyone else who has tried to kick any kind of addiction knows how difficult it is to do. Not everyone survives. It wrecks the lives of those around them. It's hard enough to do that shit privately.
But these ghouls, these buzzards, these disgusting human vermin, have decided that they want to feast on the carcass of the addiction Hunter is trying to leave behind in his rear view mirror.
Fuck you assholes. Fuck every last goddamn one of you. When Hillary called you deplorable, that was a kindness you don't even deserve.
Many of you like to post "Christian" or "Jesus saves" on your social media profile, not even caring how hypocritical you sound when you cast your stones at Hunter Biden, while ignoring the multitude of very unchristian-like offenses committed by the guy you support for President.
You delight in sharing lurid pictures of someone who was at his lowest point in life, under the influence of a chemical that makes people behave horribly.
But if you yourself are not under the influence of those chemicals, what's YOUR excuse for acting like such horrible, deplorable assholes?
