A good outing this morning. A downpour interrupted, so I drove to the grocery store, then returned when it stopped. Definitely a keeper: the manual-focus SMC Takumar 50mm f/1. 4 in M42 mount, adapted to my $20 Canon EOS Rebel XTi.

Focus isn’t my strong suit, and I’m struggling to find a worthy photo from yesterday. These were taken before meeting my friend, who gets annoyed whenever I stop to take a picture.

Not every plant is beautiful, but I can photograph a flower again and again. A gloomy, rain-soaked boulevard is another matter. Still, I walked north with my Canon 5D, chasing dark, moody images until the battery—and the rain—sent me home.

Making a Hash

Yesterday was busy. I came home exhausted, with about 20 minutes before dinner, and made a hash with tinned corned beef, half a diced potato, onion, sweet pepper, mushrooms, and a little gochujang. I topped it with a poached egg.

Almost forgot about these. I did go out a second time, driving to Kensington for disappointing ramen and pork katsu. Back home, I started editing the images and was pleased with them, but didn’t finish. I remembered this morning and completed them.
