@Hettie421@JessicaVaugn@piper4missouri That was the problem! They were highly educated in methods but not in subject. Teachers learned to write curriculum and "best practices" for teaching subject, but not the actual subject, no experts in the fields they taught
My scary classroom social experiment demonstrating how tyrannies arise from democracies:
I gave a bunch of extra credit tickets to the first few students to arrive in class, then everyone else received 1-2 tickets.
The kids that came into class last were outraged by the “injustice” of those that came first getting a greater reward.
There were no rules or directions for this day in class. I just told them I’d act as an enforcer of whatever they decided to do in the 47 minutes.
The girl circled in red- Emily- was a genius.
She used her charisma and charm to court the majority of her peers that had less coupons, and played off their resentment of the minority that had earned more tickets for arriving to class early.
In the allotted time she convinced her peers that if they voted to give her absolute power, she would confiscate the 40+ coupons held by the minority and distribute them equally.
The minority of students were frustrated, but powerless against the majority vote.
Emily was elected to a “supreme ruler” position, and as promised she confiscated all of the tickets from the minority of students that arrived to class first.
That’s when things got interesting.
She kept the vast majority of tickets for herself, and distributed a few to some of her friends.
It was a microcosm of what has happened historically time and time again, and the danger our republic faces.
I asked the students to write a reflection on how they now viewed unrestrained majority-rules democracy, and their opinions has definitely changed from the day prior.
@agent_e17 Mine too! If I want to read for enjoyment it's usually YA. Sometimes I'll read a classic for fun, but most of the time I have to work hard to read a classic.
@NotADeer1@EsBigred@Overthi34255577@BuckAngel But the treatment IS cosmetic. Despite it all, the better care needs to come from the cosmetic surgeon that is making money off of a "psychological/neurological" condition.
@Heather4amazon@bnuckols @notabrokenthing @redusa21 No one denies that rape is a violation. But being pregnant (in general) is not a bodily violation as that is the natural place the baby grows. A child conceived in rape is still a child and should not be held responsible for the sins of the father.
@Heather4amazon@bnuckols @notabrokenthing @redusa21 You call pregnancy a bodily violation and refuse to look at the evidence of benefits to the mother in pregnancy.
@TheLamaLordd@RedTeamLeader00@IsabellaMDeLuca I think most "men" would have felt uncomfortable or violated at 13 in the same situation but they are afraid they would look weak and unmanly if they admitted it. Instead they just sound like douchebags.
@TheLamaLordd@RedTeamLeader00@IsabellaMDeLuca It's like they all think that a 13 yr boy is somehow going to just want to jump on an older woman just cause she's hot. My 13 son would be traumatized in a situation like this. He would feel violated not elated. He can't even watch a woman be partially undressed on TV.
@mrs_alyse My loving second husband has a silicone ring because he works on heavy machinery as a farmer and almost lost his finger when a gold band got caught, he rarely wears the silicone one honestly though.
@mrs_alyse My first husband went through three rings before his got tattooed on. he lost every band he had, never hard work related. Now the tattoo ring I designed for him looks like shit because a crappy tattooist put wings or vapor idk to symbolize setting me free after he cheated on me.
@Heather4amazon@bnuckols @notabrokenthing @redusa21 The point is that there are actual benefits from pregnancy. It reduces the chance for certain cancers. Those fetal cells can help restore the heart. It's like having stem cells working in your body. You claimed that pregnancy destroys woman's bodies, but that isn't the truth.
