2024 will be the 100year anniversary of the Ekiden. I’m thinking it might be a good year to bring back the Michigan Pro Ekiden.
I honestly believe that if Americans paid close attention to the Ekiden and its tradition and nuances that it would change distance running in the USA

Every race should have a “budget” option where you don’t get a shirt or medal.

Even big marathons are going cheap with their race shirts, so just give me the option to decline it. The medals go in a drawer and I don’t need another ill-fitting shirt that unravels after one run.

I got very excited about filming a video this morning about a new bike lane (which is good for runners, cyclists AND drivers), but then my cheap Schwinn pump blew up and now I'm sitting here stewing in deflated misery.
