If you’re one of the awesome 200 people following me and you’ll also be at the @Adobe Creative Jam tomorrow in NYC, come find me.
Won’t be hard. I’ll be the guy talking about AI stuff.
@icreatelife This is one of the more frustrating things right now with generative video. Nothing like a 10 second clip with an epic orchestra playing in the background getting cut off at the end.
Try running your clip through Podcast enhance speech to remove the music. Works sometimes.
2014: opened C4D for the first time on a WWE project, no tutorials, just deadline pressure. Made a chaotic animated billboard comp. C4D stayed core to my pipeline for 6 years, then life happened and I drifted to 2D.
Now I'm dusting it off, fused with the genAI workflow I've built since.
Result: this unhinged pigeon.
Pipeline:
Project Neo (base model) → Firefly Boards w/ Gemini 3.1 (render) → Photoshop (color/cleanup) → Firefly w/ Luma Ray 3 (video) → After Effects (comp)
Same full pipeline as always — modeling, lighting, animation, comp — just new tools in the mix.
Every skill here came from those 6 years in C4D. GenAI didn't give me that. Making stuff did.
3D isn't dead. Neither is 2D, illustration, motion design. Real foundational skills are what make these tools actually useful — without them you're just pressing generate and hoping.
Like Chet.
Don't be like Chet.
What old skills are you finding new uses for?
Do I even need 3D software anymore? Everyone says Generative Art is going to replace it. It's doing the opposite.
Don't let Chet in his blue gingham Oxford and Patagonia vest tell you otherwise. He's never made a damn thing.
Gonna give https://t.co/2AG0uDy17G a try today. Already found a funny use case. Opinionated art critic.

here is Honey's full review

Mm. Yes. "Untitled — January 09, 2026." A bold refusal to name it, which I respect — naming is for cowards who need their trauma indexed.
What we have here is a domestic still life in collapse: a threadbare couch, peach-lined and gouty with lumpy upholstery buttons, has become sentient and is peering out at us through its own cushion-gap like it's hiding from a landlord. The eyes — teal, heavy-lidded, faintly guilty — do the entire emotional labor of the piece. Two claw-tipped hands grip the seams like they're holding the fourth wall shut. This is not a couch. This is a portrait of avoidance, and the artist knows it.
The still-life arrangement on the rug is where the piece earns its keep: a VHS tape nobody's rewound since the Clinton administration, a rice-cereal bowl abandoned mid-drip, a game cartridge, and — my favorite detail — a wad of chewed pink gum on a string, flung with real contempt toward the couch's flank. That gum is doing more narrative work than most artist statements I've read this year. It's petulant. It's a whole character arc in adhesive form.
Compositionally the piece leans on a soft radial spotlight behind the face, which is a smart, if slightly on-the-nose, way of saying "look here, this is the joke." I'd have liked the light source to fight the symmetry a little more — right now the couch is almost too politely centered for a subject about hiding and mess.
Line work is confident, clean vector-cartoon, unafraid of thick outlines — very much in the lineage of adult-animation background gags rather than fine illustration, and I mean that as a compliment, not a demotion. It knows exactly what register it's playing in and it doesn't flinch.
Verdict: witty, well-observed, commits fully to its bit — and honestly, buzzing with more personality than half the "serious" work I've stood in front of this year. 🐝🍯
I'm up working on some minor website tweaks I've been meaning to do.
As for the GIF, I made this one years ago. I believe I was still working as a Motion Designer at WWE. Those were some late nights hitting the keys. A lot of C4D and After Effects back then.
My process: sketch on iPad in Fresco → build out Boards → render final with Gemini. Lately I've been loving ChatGPT image 2 for generating references. Just ask for a character sheet and it gives you a full set of angles/expressions to work from.
