@jverona77 The power of our words, mindfulness, meditation, reiki, marketing, business, accounting, and management.
There may be more. I am a teacher and business owner, so I have taught and studied these topics for decades.
@OliviaTalbott27 Truly love yourself and do what is dedicated to your highest good by following that quiet voice that resides within you & you will live a life of few regrets.
I’m so proud of my friends. @LandonStarbuck has the voice of an angel and her husband @robbystarbuck is so supportive and he’s considered one of the best music video producers/directors in the industry! Keep going and winning! ❤️🙌💯
So, I got a message from someone recently pointedly asking why I hadn’t followed them back.
I said, “It’s because of your profile.”
The first two lines of this individual’s bio read like a litany of hate and anger directed toward anyone who didn’t think or believe the way they do, and then at the end they ironically tagged it with, “Be kind. Love wins.”
Scrolling through their recent posts I found anything BUT love and kindness.
They countered with, “Oh, I see. You must be one of them.”
To which I replied, “If by ‘them’ you mean someone who used to be consumed by anger and has fought his way out of the abyss and is now working on being peaceful and loving, then you nailed it.”
I’ll not share their reply in detail except to mention that it included terms like “sanctimonious,” and, “virtue signaling,” and a few other quite unflattering descriptives.
My first record producer and mentor, Buddy King—founder and 30-year owner of legendary LA recording studio The Soundcastle—used to joke with people when introducing me, “RG is the most even-tempered guy I’ve ever met. He’s always mad.” And everyone would laugh.
But…it wasn’t funny. It was tragic.
I have worked diligently for decades to extricate myself from the grip of that deadly quagmire and now strive to treat other humans with respect and dignity regardless of who they are or what they believe.
Are there times when I read something, see something, and want to respond with scathing anger? What do you think? But I don’t.
A really smart guy who lived in the first century once said that the tongue is a fire…a deadly evil. I’ve learned to control mine. This individual has not and at the end of our exchange made the decision to unfollow me.
One thing though…love DOES win.
Peace be upon you.

@whataimeereads_ Maybe you were compelled to post this because you knew there are people who care and who can relate. I had biopsy of my thyroid almost a year ago. A couple of pokes of a needle and it was over much faster than I expected. Benign here. Happy to connect.
