We do not recover alone. We ask for help, we show up for one another, and we pass on the support that was freely given to us. That is how our community grows.
Join us today for our Gratitude Ceremony as we recognize the honesty, commitment and hard work of those taking their next steps in recovery. As we welcome them into our Fresh Start Alumni family, we remind them that they have a community ready to keep walking beside them.
With Thanksgiving approaching, we are grateful for the families, friends, Alumni, staff, volunteers and supporters who make this community what it is. Your presence matters. Every act of support helps someone believe they can keep going.

People deserve the best we can give them. A welcoming place. Good food. A fresh toothbrush. The opportunity to feel seen, heard and cared for.
That was at the heart of our visit to Bow Valley Food Bank in Canmore.
Through our 12 Stop Charity Ride for Recovery, our riders contributed $1,500 to give back. Cedarbrae Pharmacy stepped up and matched every dollar, bringing that support to $3,000. A few of our dentist friends contributed dental care necessities as well. Together, we delivered over 600 lbs. of food and essential items.
Thank you to Cedarbrae Pharmacy, our riders and our dental community for making this possible. You saw a need and helped us do something about it.
Sitting down with the team at Bow Valley Food Bank, we heard about the growing need and the care they put into supporting their neighbours. Their approach is something we share at Fresh Start: if this was for your family, what would you want? That should guide the care we give.
We also talked about the gifts each of us has to offer. Sometimes we don’t realize how much our time or talents could mean to someone else.
Bow Valley Food Bank could use someone with social media and website skills to volunteer their time. There are stories worth sharing and needs people should know about. If you can help them get that message out, please reach out to their team.
Visit https://t.co/J7cEAxbUat to learn more, connect with their team and find ways to help.
Thank you to the staff, volunteers and board for welcoming us and for the work you do every day. The personal connection matters. Taking a moment to shake a hand, listen and care matters.
We all need help. We all have something to give. And we have to do this together.

The cheers, the hugs, the families and the pride in the room. This is what Gratitude looked like in Lethbridge last Friday.
Every person recognized has done the hard work to arrive at this moment. Their families have stood beside them. Their peers have walked with them. And a community showed up to remind them that recovery is real, it is possible and it is worth fighting for.
Congratulations to everyone recognized. We are proud to welcome you into the Fresh Start Alumni community, where connection, support and belonging continue long after this day.
You are no longer alone. Welcome home.
