Who are we?
FreshCrop is a Kenyan company using technology to revolutionalize the #Potatoesvaluechain by producing certified potato seeds. We are working to provide the highest quality varieties in the country. We are located in Nakuru, Narok and Nyandarua
As May closes, your potatoes are transitioning from flowering toward the final bulking phase. Flowers will begin to fall, that's natural and good. It means the plant is now channeling all its energy into your tubers. The hardest work is nearly done. June harvest is on the horizon
To every potato farmer who woke up early this week, walked their rows, sprayed on time, and refused to give up despite the hard rains, this post is for you. Farming is not just is courage. The budding and flowering stage is proof that your hard work is converting into food. ❤️
Quick agronomy check
✅ Are your flower buds uniform across the field?
✅ Is the canopy a healthy medium-green (not pale, not too dark)?
✅ Are your drainage channels open?
✅ Have you sprayed fungicide in the last 10 days?
✅ Have you foliar-fed in the last 14 days?
On May 20th, World Bee Day reminds us: bees aren’t background—they’re the system. From sunflower to potatoes, they quietly lift yields across Kenyan farms. Protect their habitat, spray responsibly, and the harvest will answer. 🐝🌱
We've always believed that supporting the farmer is only half the story. The other half is making sure their harvest reaches the consumer with value intact.
That's why we've moved into processing our precut potatoes at @freshchipsltd, completing the chain we started in the field
We don't advise from offices. We show up, in the field, in the mud, side by side with the farmer.
Our team walks every row, asks questions, listens carefully, then recommends. We've celebrated record harvests with farmers and sat with them through difficult seasons too.
📣 With May now underway, fewer than two months remain until the early bird registration deadline!

A flowering potato plant is a promise. Underground, tubers are swelling, storing starch, building the harvest you planted weeks ago.. Defoliation from blight or pests can reduce yields by up to 70%. Walk your farm today. Your presence on the farm is the best tool you own.
Late blight (Phytophthora infestans) thrives in Kenya's May humidity. Zorvec (Oxathiapiprolin) is a fungicide that acts both protectively and curatively. At 50ml/acre mixed with Agral 90, it gives you 10–14 days of solid protection. Apply every 10 days during Days 55–78.
Waterlogged soils block nutrient uptake, making your Nutriplex foliar spray even more critical right now. Mix with Agral 90 (100ml) per 20 litres for maximum absorption. Spray early morning when stomata are open.
The products are available at our agrovet.
Your crop is budding! Those small flower buds appearing at the top of the canopy are not just beautiful; they signal that tuber bulking has begun underground. This is the time your crop needs you most. Ensure drainage is clear, hills are firm, and nutrients are available.
We appreciate the feedback from the ground!
It’s how we refine, improve, and stay accountable to the people who trust our seeds. These are the hands doing the real work, farmers who chose our potato seeds.
Asanteni sana for trusting us wakulima.

As plants grow taller, consider a second light earthing up if your soil has not held up the first one. This helps protect tubers and supports the plant structure. It’s a simple step but one that makes a big difference in tuber quality.

Your crop is building leaf area now. This canopy is your factory. Protect it. Any damage now affects yield directly. Ensure plants are not stressed, water, nutrients, and pest control must be steady and consistent. #FreshCropLimited#FarmManagement
