Wednesday Morning, U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell and several other community leaders within Jefferson county announced a $11.7 million dollar RAISE grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to connect the Red Rock Trail System in West Jefferson County.

BIG NEWS: We announced $11.7 million from @USDOT to connect the Red Rock Trail System in West Jefferson County! It will go toward 4 miles of new bicycle facilities between Fairfield and Birmingham.

Last week, thanks to volunteers from Willams Blackstock Architects, we were able to remove an entire dumpster's worth of litter from a conservation property in the Five Mile Creek watershed! That's nearly 3 tons of trash! Thank you to this hard-working team.
