All of its issues notwithstanding (it looks like a worse movie in every way), it was always going to be hard to not feel underwhelmed by its sequel’s trailer when THE SOCIAL NETWORK has one of the best trailers of all time.
As the last episode of #TipToe is on streaming now, I'll say this: it is, without a doubt, the most distressing episode of television I've ever seen. Pure horror, the likes and extremity of which I'd never expect to see in a mainstream, 9pm-slot drama. Brace yourself.
New @TheRewatchables — ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ with me, @SeanFennessey and special guest Steven Spielberg.

Saw BACKROOMS. Inflicted serious heebie-jeebies. A proper one-of-one visual marvel I can’t imagine dreaming up. Genuinely loved it (no doubt enhanced by reading HOUSE OF LEAVES). Kinda craving a demented midnight double-bill with SKINAMARINK.
It took a *long* time, but I finally finished HOUSE OF LEAVES. Mind-altering, indelible book. I’ll think and talk about it for the rest of my life, I suspect.
Breaking my (very unintended) silence to say that OBSESSION is a banger. Proper mean horror that made me (giddily) uncomfortable. Excited to see what Curry Barker AND Inde Navarrette do next.
Watched 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. Gonna be chasing the experience of watching it all year, especially the feeling when I heard the final piece of music.
Can’t say I thought the finale was perfect (good, but safe!), but I’ve been rolling my eyes all day at the flood of killjoys insisting on how much they don’t like Stranger Things (and seemingly never have).
Watched Marty Supreme: comfortably the best film of the year, and absolutely in the decade conversation.
There Will Be Blood-calibre moviemaking. SUPREME.
