You have to completely economically illiterate to believe that there has been an $18 trillion influx of foreign investment.
(Which would have created 60% GDP growth and required filling 100 million new jobs out of the 7.5 million unemployed workers). 🤡
Amazon ceo tells @jimcramer it is not seeing tariff inflation: “We did a lot of forward buying several months ago and then a lot of our third party selling partners forward deployed a lot of inventory to avoid some of the issues with the uncertainty around where tariffs are going to settle. And we have so far not seen prices appreciably go up”
US Commerce Secretary Lutnick: It wasn't clear until conversations with auto-makers that even a small amount of tariffs would hold them back from hiring and investment.
Breaking: Wall Street executives with ties to the @WhiteHouse say @realDonaldTrump’s apparently softening stance in his trade war with China is motivated because the tariffs against the Chinese will hurt a key part of his base: Farmers since China consumes so much of our AG products. I am told by these sources that the China deal could take months and it’s still unclear the Chinese will be willing to negotiate favorable terms. Also momentum seems to be shifting to India from Japan on the first possible trade deal; timing uncertain. Story developing
Trump: “It’s the only chance our country will have to reset the table. I could have come in and had an easy term. But no other President would be willing to do what I am doing or even go through it. I don’t mind because I see the end goal.”
@unusual_whales I am pretty sure this idiot failed History 101!!!! He is burning the global economy and doesn't care. I am fully convinced his boys have shorted the market to save his ass.
@ZaStocks What about the auto parts used to assemble? I really have no clue where Tesla gets its parts but lots of auto parts are made in Mexico, Canada, and China. Even most that are made in the US use imported metals. Both will kill margins...just saying.
