Overwork is glorified in academia. People brag about getting barely any sleep and eating almost nothing and wear it as a badge of honor.
That outlook is so toxic. We should be proud of ourselves for getting 8 hrs of sleep,eating 3 meals,and exercising, not overworking ourselves.

I was so excited to read this article I joined Twitter. If you are a woman in medicine you are familiar with “benevolent patriarchy”. If your instinct says the help being offered is not actually helpful, listen to your instinct and then call it out. Stronger together. 🙏🏻#nejm
