The former UFC fighter was working with Blackwater founder Erik Prince’s Vectus Global when the team was hit on September 17, with sources putting the toll around 20 dead and wounded, including at least seven Congolese and a New Zealand special forces veteran.

A contract worth hundreds of millions pays for Colombian and Ukrainian drone pilots striking M23 rebels, plus a 100-person team chasing the $3 BILLION Congo loses to mining fraud every year.

The war side keeps going badly.

Several Colombian contractors were killed in one battle in early September, then on Sept. 17 Tim Kennedy's team was ambushed in the Minembwe Highlands, where New Zealand SAS veteran Justin Conaglen died.

Kennedy himself was rushed through Burundi to Johannesburg and is now recovering at Walter Reed, a hospital built mainly for active-duty troops.

US officials insist Prince is purely private, even as Washington chases Congo's cobalt through a minerals deal some Congolese officials privately call "peace for minerals."

When American veterans are bleeding in a private war over the metals America wants, "no comment" from Prince's company shouldn't be the last word.
