Hotter Take:
This Is the first Time they TRULY try to tell a Story in a Monster Hunter game. One that goes away from the classic formula:
- Flagship bad and causing trouble
- He ded
- Oh no he wasn't the bad one
- Kill the actual bad
The characters are truly involved this Time;
[SPOILERS WARING]
- Hunters have personality, explorers and researchers have a significant role
- The lynians from this game have a role
- The Hunter and Felyne are actual Characters rather than empty vessels
- We saw something that we don't really see that often; Lore about the past of this World, background of the Civilization before Hunters
- We saw how non-hunter or non-guild associates react to the Hunters and the Monsters
- Arkveld represents better than any other Monster what a Flagship Monster Is; A tragic victim from the circumstances
- Yeah, this game has long walking segments, they're annoying, but at least this Time I'm engaged on an interesting Story and World building rather than pushing a car through a desert just to see a rock
- THE HUNTER AND THE FELYNE ARE DELIGHTFUL BEINGS TRYING TO COMFORT AND MAKE PEOPLE FEEL CALM ON A CRYSIS AND CALLS OUT OTHERS WHEN THEY MAKE MISTAKES OR WRONG DOINGS
And the best part
- You can see a Character evolve after the events of the Story and after you, as a player, saw His Origin and what he experienced, finishing on a new arc on His development, yes, Nata's Story was actually good and His crashouts were fully justified
They took what was a scrapped concept once and fully realized it into a game
So yeah, I truly think this Is the best Story on a Monster Hunter game after considering every aspect from it.
Louder Than Life have released the full line-up for 2025 featuring performances from Avenged Sevenfold, Deftones, Breaking Benjamin, Bring Me The Horizon, Sleep Token, Bad Omens, Lorna Shore, Trivium and many more!
Benjamin J. Grimm is undeniably the unwavering heart of any team. Always at the forefront of any fight, he's ready to take the lead with his unbreakable form.
Ben Grimm originally signed up to be a pilot for his pal Reed, but he never imagined that he'd return from the mission as an indescribable monster: The Thing. Even though beaming cosmic rays transformed his flesh, a heart of gold still beats his rocky exterior.
As New York City plunged into eternal night, the Thing has made it his mission to selflessly protect his home and lead missions to collect Chronovium by putting his piloting skills to the test.
Shield your allies and stand at the forefront of chaos as The Thing on February 21. 🪨
Keep an eye out—more news will drop in just 1 hour!

In my DMC Universe each season will have a different feel to emulate the way each game has a different feel. That means a different theme song each season and a completely different title design each season.
Also ... My DMC Universe is set in a late '90s/early 2000s PS2 era of the world. It's not set in modern times. It's set in my memory of the world, pre- and post-9/11. My music choices reflect this. My series features a mix of hits from that era and greatest musical hits from the DMC franchise (reimagined by @powergloveaudio).
