ONGOING ONE-YEAR INTENSIVE WELDING TRAINING PROGRAMME SPONSORED BY REP. O. K. CHINDA

Rep. O. K. Chinda has consistently demonstrated his belief that one of the most sustainable forms of empowerment is equipping people with the skills to become self-reliant. Guided by one of his ideologies of teaching his constituents how to catch fish rather than simply giving them fish, which he has demonstrated over the years through his numerous Skills Acquisition and Empowerment programmes.

Continuing this commitment, Rep. O. K. Chinda this year sponsored another one-year intensive welding training programme for some youths from Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency, which is phase 4 of his welding training programmes, aimed at equipping participants with practical vocational skills that will enable them to build successful careers and livelihoods.

The administrator of the Training programme, Mr. Emmanuel Wodi, who recently visited the trainees to assess their performance and challenges at the various sites at Kiepies Engineering Concepts in Port Harcourt, as well as the fabrication yards in Enugu and Onitsha, reported that the training is going on well and that participants were actively engaged, demonstrated good practical skills, and showed commitment to the programme, as the instructors also commended their dedication and steady improvement.

The administrator further stated that four of the trainees have withdrawn, as they could not adjust to the demands of the training, and that the service provider has asked for their replacement. The trainees expressed their appreciation for the opportunity given to them by Rep. O. K. Chinda and expressed gratitude for his continued support.

Rep. O. K. Chinda is a man who believes in Skills Acquisition, Youth Development, and Empowerment, which is a means to self-reliance that builds personal independence, inner confidence, and resourcefulness.

With O. K. Chinda, Rivers State will experience exceptional people's servant governance and leadership where everyone will be okay.
