@SN_Trizzy see back to 7-8 months ago where he was an absolute beast in the playoffs. we know he has it in him. hopefully things turn around and he gets his groove back soon
@CityNewsTO Thank you for clarifying (with an editor's note dated April 20th?!), but why would CityNews TORONTO post this Associated Press article in the first place? It was very confusing.
@ScottFriedman3@johnnydrama80@Raptors@SeatGeek i fundamentally agree that there should be no restrictions on ticket sales! i just think comparing the Cleveland market to the Toronto market doesn't illustrate that point for a number of reasons
@johnnydrama80@ScottFriedman3@Raptors@SeatGeek Cleveland has literally been crushed by free-market capitalism for 100 years to the point that their NBA playoff tickets have to be cheaper than Toronto's minor-league hockey tickets since no one can afford them. it isn't the greatest example of the benefits of a "free-market"
@AdamBojak awesome spot. joey runs a great little airbnb above it too! i always try to stay there whenever i'm in town (although it's usually booked up these days)
@NickGiammusso@ScottFriedman3@BlueJays@Raptors@MapleLeafs@Ticketmaster@fordnation This law was enacted in Ontario by Premier Doug Ford, a conservative, populist-Trumper, who did it because his constituents were mad about the cost of Jays playoff tickets. Btw, Ontario already has rent control and he's been slowing trying to erode those protections.
@NickGiammusso@BuffaloSabres there are also handfuls of tickets being released regularly on TM, mostly 100 level. more expensive than the uppers by a bit, but considerably better seats.
@JDale_Shoemaker people, for the most part, are fine subsidizing a billionaire despite no guarantee of a championship. but paying a yearly fee to be part of a world-famous list that could help generate revenue for local restaurants...that's where they draw the line.
I am no longer employed by CityNews. I am proud of my journalism at CityNews and I stand by my reporting. I will have more to say on this later but for now please stay tuned and thank you for those who have supported me.
@ScottFriedman3@BlueJays@Raptors@MapleLeafs he cancelled legislation that capped resale prices at 50% above face back in 2019 and said it was "unenforceable". what's changed?
