It also gave me a chance to see, for the first time, the bat with which Percy Perrin scored 343 for Essex at Chesterfield in 1904, a game Essex lost to @DerbyshireCCC

127 - Derbyshire won their sole County Championship title in 1936 - here's that side walking onto the field at Chesterfield that summer...
On This Day in 1898 the half timbered pavilion was officially opened at Chesterfield @Chesterfield_CC – the cost was £499.
It was renovated in 1921 and extended in 1936 with more work carried out in the 1970s and more recently - @DerbyshireCCC have played over 500 matches here...

85 - One of the earliest photographs of Queen's Park, Chesterfield - this is 1904 and the players are leaving the field after Derbyshire had defeated Essex by nine wickets...something of an upset after the visitors had scored 597 in their first innings...

An excellent meeting of The Chesterfield Cricket Lovers' Society took place last night when the special guests were @DerbyshireCCC new T20 captain @AneurinDonald12 Chief Executive Ryan Duckett and Head of Cricket @Mickeyarthurcr1
A good turnout was rewarded with updates about Derbyshire's plans on and off the field along with some amusing and interesting anecdotes...
Apparently today is ‘Blue Monday’, however, it’s only 5 months until the 19th June when Derbyshire take on Lancashire in the Queen’s Park and these two legends will captain their teams again.
