When I was in Vegas, the @FriendsRedRock invited me to stop by their visitors center to see their Mojave Desert Tortoises. These tortoises are all rescues & can't be released into the wild because of the actions of humans. Let's take care of our wildlife! https://t.co/zusKGXZ7oN
Chuck and Pat Williams, legends with @FriendsRedRock in Nevada, have more than 50,000 hours - about 6 years of volunteer service - in one of America's most popular #ConservationLands. Here they are with the late JoAnn Schoch in March 2006. #NVW2020
In Nevada, @friendsredrock volunteers spent more than 21,000 hours = about 2.4 years of service in one of America's most popular #ConservationLands last year alone!
April is #NationalVolunteerMonth & we're celebrating volunteers in our Friends Grassroots Network. Celebrate by tagging your favorite #ConservationLands volunteer. We'll start with one of our Friends Grassroots Network member orgs!

On Sunday FORRC's Graffiti Removal Team worked on large tags and scratchings on the rocks near the waterfall at Lost Creek Trail. As always, they did an amazing job restoring the rocks to their natural state! #FORRC
Hello Roxie! So far this spring #FORRC volunteers have spotted Roxie, Betty, Shelby, Max, Hugo, and Mae out of their burrows. It's always a delight to see them after brumation! โค๏ธ๐ขโค๏ธ
Starting today, March 1, the 13-mile Scenic Drive at Red Rock Canyon will be open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Be aware that the Loop will likely close due to the NCA being at capacity in the late morning and early afternoon on weekends - especially during this beautiful weather! #FORRC
Heads up friends! @nevadadot will be upgrading SR 159 from today, February 27 to May 14. Plan ahead if you're visiting Red Rock, and for more information check NDOT's site: https://t.co/NSEMmLo5J2
Guess who was our first Mojave Desert Tortoise to emerge this year? She came out on January 17 and has been spotted sunning herself a few times since then. See if you can identify her by her shell: https://t.co/1fo9WVnSlQ #FORRC
If you're heading out to Red Rock today, slow down! The roads are wet from the rain so please drive safely and look out for runners and cyclists on the Scenic Loop. #FORRC
Friends of Red Rock Canyon, whose volunteers provided more than 28,000 hours of service to Red Rock last year - the equivalent of 13 full-time employees - depends on revenue from the NV specialty license plate program. Do you have a FORRC plate? #FORRC
Did you know that dragonflies depend on water to reproduce? They lay their eggs in water and their larva live and hunt there until they become adults. Just another reason why our fragile riparian areas are so important! (๐ท by Dinorah Arambula) #FORRC
On Saturday Friends of Red Rock Canyon's Outdoor Adventures students worked hard to build part of a new trail at @SpringMntRanch. Then they were treated to a fascinating interpretive hike by Ranger Josh. Everyone had a great time! #FORRC
Working closely with BLM rangers, Light Trail Maintenance recently made HUGE improvements to the little known Girl Scout Trail near Kraft Mountain. Next time you're in the Red Spring area, check it out! โค๏ธ๐ฅพ๐ฅพ #FORRC
