Delighted to share new, enhanced descriptions of the first Cowcher book of the Duchy of Lancaster @UkNatArchives thx to @FriendsTNA. Masses of information on medieval land, landholding, coastal and water management, forest law and crime and criminality: https://t.co/A4eANOVdI3
Norman Brice details the story of Vulcan bombers and the intriguing history behind rear-crew ejection seats in the aircraft, in the November issue of Magna, our members magazine: https://t.co/sp0DD6ZFw6
At 10am on 01/10/1956, Royal Air Force Avro Vulcan B1 serial XA 897 of 230 Operational Conversion Unit was on its final approach to land at Heathrow, eagerly awaited by VIPs and families. This was a very unusual airfield for a Vulcan bomber, but then it was a very special flight.
We are proud to support @UKNatArcEdu's project in collaboration with @Anstee_Bridge, helping young people learn about the start of the NHS through original records, such as recruitment posters and uniform designs.

This year we've welcomed many new volunteers and trustees to the FTNA, not least our President, Dr Clare Jackson.
Dr Jackson is Senior Tutor of Trinity Hall at @Cambridge_Uni, and #WolfsonHistoryPrize 2022 winner.
@Cambridge_Uni "I’m looking forward to multiple return visits to Kew to admire more archival treasures and explore new and different ways in which the Friends can continue to support TNA in preserving our past records, while also documenting the present in order to inform all our futures."
