Those wide, cleared lanes in the front field might look inviting - but they’re set aside for migrating birds!
Please keep to the established walking and ski trails and let our feathered visitors have the front fields. THANK YOU!
Huge thanks to the Fairbanks Kiwanis Club for spreading grain across the cleared fields this morning!
With migrating birds arriving, the fields are now closed—please stay on designated trails and avoid the plowed lanes when recreating.
Celebrate Earth Day & Spring Migration week with us!
Join us Wed, April 22 for a FREE screening of The Lorax at the Morris Thompson Cultural & Visitors Center Theater.

Spring arrival preparations kicked off today at the Refuge! The crew from the Fairbanks International Airport cleared strips of snow from the front fields, getting things ready for the thousands of winged visitors expected in the coming weeks.
⏰ Last call! PFD applications close March 31, and there’s still time to support Friends of Creamer’s Field through Pick Click Give.
Thank you for helping us continue providing free educational programs and events for our community. 💚
Curious about the large mound in the northwestern field?
Check out our new educational sign! Created with partners at ASI and ADF&G, it explains the artificial nesting habitat built for Bank Swallows.
We’re excited to see if they choose it as a nesting site this spring!
At the end of our rainbow are fields, forests, and wetlands! 🍀
We’re feeling incredibly lucky to have this beautiful refuge to explore, love, and learn from.
What makes you feel lucky to visit Creamer’s Field? Tell us in the comments! 🌈

Look at that snow! ❄️
The Farmhouse Visitor Center is looking extra cozy after nearly 90 inches of snowfall in Fairbanks this winter - about 25 inches above average.
