Kijabe PAACS Anesthesiology senior residents, Drs. Rebecca Dufe and Eunice Kageha completed their first away rotations at Kibuye Hope Hospital, Burundi. During this time, they engaged in teaching surgery residents, supervised care, and helped design a quality improvement project.

Huge thanks to my mentor @britneygrayson#APSA2024#CLABSI
The Starvation Cycle. . .this is true. . .after running a non-profit for nearly a decade, I believe the best money spent is to ensure high-quality staff can do great work: https://t.co/olQZkQq9VL
“We're the showstoppers. If a machine isn't calibrated or safety checks aren't done, we risk endangering children. This is why our work is important." 🙌

It is a joy to serve beyond our walls.
We had the privilege to partner with Gilgil Sub-County @MOH_Kenya & @FriendsofKijabe to provide eye care, diabetes & hypertension screening to residents around Ngecho and its environs.
At anesthesia conferences I hear a lot of talk about increasing the clinical workforce in Africa. I think we need to shift the conversation to increasing the educational workforce. We must find gifted educators and encourage, mentor and incentivize them to teach.
13 anesthesia machines purchased this year. 7 in Kijabe, 6 on a container. 1 ventilator purchased, 3 more to go by year end, God-willing! Good equipment and great people are the key! @KijabeHospital@GradianHealth
"With the right equipment and skill, the success rate of our anaesthesia is almost at 100%.” 🙌
We're so proud to provide dedicated paediatric equipment to amazing healthcare workers like Dr. Mary Mungai, Nurse & Lead Anaesthetist at @KijabeHospital in Kenya. 💙
"My beautiful long hair was completely gone after the second chemotherapy session. This was so heartbreaking,” recalls Keziah, a breast cancer survivor.

Exciting day at @KijabeHospital!!!
Thank you to @KidsOperating@AfricaMHF@FriendsofKijabe and many many others on the team that made this possible. Better care for kids and training for surgery and anesthesia is a huge win!
