What a coincidence!
In a rare and alarming incident, a leopard collided with a moving motorcycle on Khutani Road, Bhimtal on Tuesday evening and got entangled in the bike, leaving it injured. The situation led to a traffic jam as people gathered at the spot.
This isn’t just an unusual incident.
It’s a clear sign of how frequently human and wildlife paths are now crossing.
Day by day, the risk of human–wildlife conflict is increasing, and what used to be occasional encounters is slowly becoming routine.
Jitu Munda went to the bank again and again
He was not asking for help
He only wanted his dead sister’s savings
But the bank kept asking for documents he did not understand
No one explained what was needed
No one helped him arrange it
No one guided him like a human being
So this uneducated tribal man, in helplessness, dug up his sister’s remains, put them in a sack and carried them to the bank as proof of her death
That is not just poverty
That is the cruelty of a system that speaks in papers to people who live without access, education or support
After the issue went viral, the bank suddenly said he would be helped
Grameen banks were made for people like him, For the poor, For villagers, For the most vulnerable
If they cannot guide such people with patience and dignity, then financial inclusion is only a slogan
Jitu Munda did not fail the system
The system failed him
Whosoever this woman is, extremely well done.
These regular road blockings for dharnas, protests, and VIP visits are a nuisance. When will political parties realise that not a single new voter will be added through such methods? In fact, people stuck in traffic will hate you, you may lose more than you gain.
Specifically to the BJP: move on from the women’s reservation issue. Nobody cares about it. No woman, except maybe the party cadre, is angry that the bill won’t be implemented right now. It’s not going to fetch you any votes. There is already too much traffic in India; don’t make it worse by blocking roads for pointless theatrics.
Coming back to this woman, I’m sure the deep state experts will soon find out her political allegiance and label her a deep-state agent planted by George Soros to dilute the women’s reservation bill issue, because shooting the messanger is easier than addressing the message.
Teach your kids about your religion, sit in puja together and sing bhajans with them, tell them the science behind sanatan, the logic behind each ritual we follow, the meaning of every shloka.
If you don't teach your kids about your religion, someone else will teach them theirs.
Hi Domino's India, I’m getting multiple delivery OTPs for a single order placed via Zomato. This has happened last month also and again facing same issue. Also, no OTP was asked at delivery. Can you please clarify what’s going on?
@dominos_india
@theskindoctor13 It’s same everywhere, Kashi Vishwanath or Banke Bihari. Common people struggle while VIPs go easily. People travel from all over India but face bad treatment so it needs to get https://t.co/b6AmXAiIrV Ayodhya Ram Mandir, it’s well managed for now, hope it remains the same.
I must confess that until recently I had never heard of Phool Dei, a spring festival that was celebrated yesterday in the villages of Uttarakhand.
Children gather fresh flowers from the hills and go from house to house placing them on doorsteps, offering a blessing for the household:
“Phool Dei, Chhamma Dei,
Deni Dwar, Bhar Bhakar…” roughly wishing the home prosperity.
In return they receive sweets.
It reminded me a little of Halloween in the U.S., where children go door to door saying “trick or treat.” But what a lovely contrast. Here the children arrive not threatening a prank, or asking first, but giving first. Flowers.
In an age when we speak so much about environmental consciousness, this graceful celebration of spring and nature deserves to be far more widely known.
Just as Holi travelled across India and the world, perhaps Phool Dei should too.
For me, the children of Uttarakhand are my #MondayMotivation
When the Government of India announced the Padma Shri for Dr. Tapan Kumar Lahiri,
the protocol required him to travel to Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi to receive the honor from the President.
However, Dr. Lahiri was hesitant to go. His reasoning was simple: "If I go to Delhi, who will look after my patients in the OPD?" For him, a day away from the hospital wasn't a holiday; it was a day his patients—many of whom traveled from Bihar and rural UP—would go untreated.
Finally he did go given the prestige associated with the event.
Who is Dr Tapan Lahiri?
Dr. Tapan Kumar Lahiri is a legendary Indian cardiothoracic surgeon and professor commonly referred to as the "Saint of BHU". Dr. Lahiri has done FRCS and MCh and working in BHU.
Dr. Lahiri’s commitment to the poor is extraordinary.
In 1994, when his salary (including allowances) exceeded ₹1 lakh, he stopped taking it entirely, directing the university to use the funds for the treatment of underprivileged patients.
After retiring in 2003, he continued this practice with his pension. He keeps only enough to cover two simple meals a day and donates the remainder to the BHU patient fund.
Even in his 80s, he has been known to walk to the hospital at 6:00 AM daily, carrying a simple bag and a black umbrella, to check on his patients.
As he says
"With the grace of Lord Vishwanath and Maa Annapurna, I will keep serving patients till my last breath."
If India "has to" play Pakistan in a multinational tournament because the format leaves no alternative, then why not treat it like any other fixture, against any other team?
But that’s not what happens. They are routinely placed in the same group, ensuring at least one guaranteed clash. The match is almost always scheduled in weekend prime time, wrapped in weeks of manufactured hype, pre-match shows, ads, dramatic commentary, fake fights, music, performances, spectacle, everything calibrated to extract maximum viewership and revenue.
That's not how majboori me khelna pad raha hai looks like. The pattern is structural and deliberate. The rivalry is monetised, emotions are packaged, and nationalism is subtly turned into a broadcast product. That's why "not shaking hands with them" means nothing. It's just a lollypop given to those cricket fans who keep country over cricket and question why there is a need to play against such a hostile country.
