NEW PARIS CENTRE: This is VERY good. Clichy-Batignolles (former rail yard lands), one of many transformations/new centres at Paris Metro transit stations planning or being built around the city. Dense, mixed (with an urban IKEA, grocery store, shops, services, community facilities, schools, jobs etc), diverse (50% public housing, 20% middle class rental, 30% market ownership), architecturally interesting, strong public realm and ground floor design, 1/3rd of the land dedicated to beautiful central linear park (Martin Luther King Park). Home to 20k more people already.
Kudos to all involved and thanks again for the tour and deep conversation, @CarlosMorenoFr!
"Europe is poorer than Alabama" if you're a rich kid you'd rather be in the US, true
Otherwise, most Europeans are actually *richer* since the 1980s
The majority of the US population is comparable to Slovakia's 🇸🇰 or Spain's 🇪🇸
Why did Queen Letizia of Spain wear all white in the presence of Pope Leo XIV, while all the other women wore the traditional black? Many media outlets praised the Queen's 'disruptive' all-white style.
They are, unfortunately, ignorant of the tradition of Le privilège du blanc.
This papally approved privilege allows certain Catholic queens and princesses to wear white, not black, in the presence of the Pope. Let’s look at the history of Le privilège du blanc: 🧵
Between 2010 and Q4 2024, house prices in the EU increased most in:
🇭🇺Hungary (+234%)
🇪🇪Estonia (+228%)
