Vincent Lemark Burrell of Paulding County, Georgia, was sentenced to 475 years in prison in 2025 for running an extensive Dog fighting operation and committing animal cruelty.

The case began in November 2022 after an Amazon delivery driver noticed over 100 abused pit Bulls in poor condition on the property and reported it to authorities.

He was convicted on 103 charges, including dog fighting and animal cruelty. Many of the dogs were chained with no food or water and showed signs of neglect.

Police also found dog fighting tools, drugs, and a live bait.

Well done that Amazon delivery man 👍.

Pigs don't just feel fear themselves. They also feel the fear of other pigs — and try to comfort them.

In one study, pigs watching another pig in distress first showed fear themselves and then tried to comfort the distressed pig through snout-to-snout contact. Pigs who'd previously endured the same ordeal reacted even more intensely — they seemed to recognize what the distressed pig was going through. (Goumon & Špinka, 2016.)

On factory farms, pigs trapped in gestation crates aren't just feeling afraid themselves. They're feeling the fear of all the other pigs around them. But the crate's iron bars stop them from even turning toward their fellow pigs — let alone comforting them with their snout.

This terrified puppy was dragged from the back of a rescue van by police and brought back to Ridglan Farms, despite a judicial order proving she was a victim of criminal abuse. At any moment, she could face torture or death in an illegal experiment or surgical procedure.

The police actions were not just wrong. They were illegal. Even if she was “property” in a “theft,” she should not have been sent back to her abusers without a court order, as police are required to preserve “evidence of a crime.” We have some of the nation’s leading lawyers and law professors on our side, but without public pressure, that will not be enough.

We need everyone (including you!) to contact the Dane County DA and Sheriff—and post on social media—that she and the rest of the #Ridglan8 must be returned to the rescuers or an appropriate humane society. (Feel free to use this image in your own post.)
