@JacobSchlafen @davepetley Some critical points are 1) suitability of landslide inventories, 2) quality, quantity, and consistency of input data, 3) geological plausibility of results. And as an extra point 4) design and usability of landslide susceptibility maps.
Dear landslide susceptibility enthusiasts. We are organizing a session on weak points in landslide susceptibility modelling at the World Landslide Forum in Florence, November 2023. Submit your abstracts until February 28 to #WLF6 Session 4.3: https://t.co/Fqm6frphWN
It’s international day of disaster risk reduction! I want to take the chance to highlight the amazing work the team at @siatamedellin does to make Medellín safer. We got to visit them last week to learn about their monitoring/early warning system and community work #IDDRR2022
Really excited to organize a dedicated workshop in collaboration with @FrlBraun entitled "Current trends and future perspectives of Machine Learning applications in Geoscience and Engineering Geology" during the upcoming #GSG22. The event is supported from #YEG & #IAEG.

Yesterday there was a small tsunami, allegedly triggered by an earthquake induced landslide in Indonesia. We are currently studying such phenomena in the Tsunami_Risk project here at @TUBerlin and are eager to learn from this event #earthquake#landslide#tsunami
A while ago I was interviewed by the @realYEGs for their "Get to know us better" section and the interview appeared now on their blog. Check it out to get to know me better.

I am really excited I got invited to present at the next @realYEGs webinar on the 21st May, together with Prof. Jordi Coromina. My talk is about machine learning for landslide susceptibility mapping and how we implemented it for rockfall onset probability modeling. Save the date!
YEG – IAEG invites you to the 9th series of “e-YEG” webinars with keynote lectures from Prof. Jordi Corominas Dulcet (Spain) & Dr. @FrlBraun - Anika Braun (Germany).
📆Friday 21/5

We are back on track with our Friday posts. This month, Mehran Naghizadehrokni wrote about his research on screening of vibrations in cities and an app that he developed during his PhD at @RWTH. Btw, please note the new website design🤩 https://t.co/ldtKvLdPVH
Comparing the trend of new COVID-19 cases in Germany in the last two weeks, we can see that many counties went back to increasing new case numbers last week. Is this the new variant? Or do we just need a reminder to #stayhome ?
After my choice of a diverging color ramp has been criticized last week I now used it to show the changes of the 7-day incidence of COVID-19 cases in Germany compared to last Monday. Also the inferno map looks a bit less scary today. #QGIS#covid19map
Treat yourself to a sweet engineering geology webinar today! It is about innovative sensing techniques for slope modeling and monitoring. I am sure there will be drones. @realYEGs@Stk8
Less than a day for the December "e-YEG" webinar with our invited speakers D. Giordan from Italy and E. Karantanellis from Greece!
Are you ready for slope modeling and monitoring using innovative sensing??
Join us and grab your seat!😎🔝

@Antorot I think it depends a lot on conference organizers to create space for this. Especially german conferences are terribly conservative in my experience. Also, experienced researches could more pro-actively address young scientists to break the ice.
