Taiwanese designer Yi-Fei Chen’s 2016 “Tear Gun” catches tears beneath the eye, freezes them inside a brass container and launches the frozen drops. The project grew from her struggle to speak up during a confrontation at Design Academy Eindhoven.
It was conceptual art—not a new Taiwanese weapon or commercial firearm.
