While the boys were being beaten, they repeatedly tell the agents they are CITIZENS — and are ignored.

One agent told said, "I don't give a damn. Your parents can't help you now."

Both teenagers were detained for hours before being released.

They were preparing to serve this country - yet their citizenship did not protect them from being beaten, pepper-sprayed, and detained by their own government.

Meet MAGAt John D. Jessup, a Republican county commissioner from Hancock County, Indiana, who traveled to Las Vegas with his adult daughter to celebrate her 21st birthday. According to court records and prosecutor statements, Jessup encouraged his daughter to consume alcohol heavily at a hotel casino until she became incapacitated, at which point he returned with her to their hotel room and subjected her to a sexual assault.

Following a police investigation, a felony arrest warrant was issued on June 8, 2024. Jessup was arrested at his home in Indiana on June 14, 2024, and subsequently extradited to Clark County, Nevada, where he was held without bail on felony charges of sexual assault.

Despite being incarcerated in Nevada, Jessup remained on the ballot for the November 5, 2024, general election and won a seat on the Hancock County Council. Shortly after his election victory, on November 13, 2024, Jessup entered a plea agreement, pleading guilty to a reduced felony charge of attempted sexual assault. Because Indiana law prohibits individuals with felony convictions from holding public office, he resigned from his positions. On April 24, 2025, a Las Vegas judge sentenced Jessup to a prison term of 6 to 15 years.

Birds are building nests with dryer lint, wrappers and fishing line, and it’s killing the babies.

Nests have always included whatever material birds can find. The problem is what our landscapes now offer them: strips of plastic, synthetic fibers and loops that can tighten around a leg, wing or neck.

A wrapper woven into a nest is a record of where the trash ended up. Fishing line is worse: it is strong enough to keep holding after a bird becomes tangled, and nearly invisible when stretched through branches.

Dryer lint is a close second. It's loaded with chemicals and, when wet, holds moisture, chills babies and eggs, and can cause the nest to fall apart entirely.

Picking up litter really doesn't seem like doing much, but every piece of loose plastic and line that you pull is a songbird nest made a little safer.

The birds didn't choose a plastic world. That was our choice. But they're stuck building with the shit we've left them.

Outraged about the US sending Israel more bombs? Wait till you find out who's paying for them.

The $2.8 billion isn't Israel buying weapons from us with their own money. It's American taxpayer dollars, funneled through a program called Foreign Military Financing, so Israel can receive 40,000 more 2,000-pound bombs. We are paying for our own bombs to be handed to them, for free, on our dime.

Biden paused this exact shipment back in 2024 because of what these bombs do — MK-84s and BLU-117s have a blast radius wide enough to level a city block, and Israel had already been using them in Gaza's most crowded neighborhoods, sometimes killing dozens of civilians to hit one target. Trump reversed that pause days after taking office.

Now his administration wants to send 40,000 more, plus bunker-busting penetrator warheads, and American taxpayers are covering the entire tab, in dollars and reputation.

The damage from these bombs isn't hypothetical. It's already documented, condemned by human rights groups and foreign governments alike. And the response to that damage is to buy 40,000 more and give them away, funded entirely by us.

Even Tucker Carlson is calling this a "gift" at Americans' expense. Marjorie Taylor Greene says flatly: "we did not vote for this."

Florida's "Alligator Alcatraz" is closed, but a DHS Inspector General report just confirmed what officials spent months calling a hoax. Detainees were regularly locked in outdoor metal cages the size of a phone booth — 4'3" by 4'3", less than 8 feet tall, offering less than half the floor space ICE's own standards require for a single person. Investigators found 79 people held in these cages between July 2025 and January 2026, for stretches ranging from several minutes to nearly two hours. The report calls the practice "unprecedented" among facilities DHS has ever inspected and says it presents "significant risks to detainee health and wellbeing."

When Amnesty International first reported this back in December, DeSantis's office called it "fabrications" and a "politically motivated attack." The DHS report — from the Trump administration's own watchdog — just confirmed it was true. Asked this week why his office lied, DeSantis's communications director didn't answer. Instead he doubled down, calling detainees "violent criminal aliens" with zero evidence, and said of the cages: "We'd make it even smaller if we could."

Staff told inspectors the cages were "calming areas" that detainees supposedly asked to use. But investigators found at least one case where a detainee was locked in one as punishment for "failing to comply with a lawful command" — and noted the cages have locking mechanisms. Detainees called them "The Box." One told Amnesty he saw someone held in one for an entire day.

This wasn't a one-time failure. Inspectors caught the cages still in use in January — a full month after DeSantis's office denied they existed.

Meanwhile, taxpayers were funding this facility to the tune of $1.2 million a day before it closed in June, officially over hurricane risk, though critics say the mounting political and legal fallout made it untenable either way.

Johnny Robinson had a difficult upbringing. His father was murdered by a neighbor and he frequently witnessed the anti-Black racial violence of Birmingham, Alabama.

Fifty racially motivated bombings took place in the city between 1945 and 1963.

On September 15, 1963, Several white teens drove by Johnny and his friends, yelling racial slurs and waving Confederate flags.  The white teens threw bottles, and Johnny and his friends retaliated by throwing rocks.

When the police arrived, Johnny and his friends ran. Johnny was shot in the back by Officer Jack Parker and died before reaching the hospital.

Republicans want to prohibit white “discomfort” and not teach all of America’s history and whitewash what they do teach.
