@MetsNewsMoves When you finish in the top 10 in MVP voting back to back years you get a pass. You’re also making the claim about on and off field issues, which are literally surrounding him and McNeil and were completely off the field. What on the field stories am I missing?
@NFLFrascella I’m sorry but if that’s the case, this team is worse than last year and that is unacceptable after the way the season ended and the promises Cohen made
Mets fans everywhere. I owe you an apology . You did your part by showing up and supporting the team. We didn’t do our part. We will do a post-mortem and figure out the obvious and less obvious reasons why the team didn’t perform up to your and my expectations
We are all feeling raw emotions today. I know how much time and effort you have put into this team. The result was unacceptable. Your emotions tell me how much you care and continues to motivate the organization to do better. Thank You to the best fans in sports.
@TioALnyc Feel you man, just consider yourself lucky you have the choice to withhold that spending. I renewed my season tickets in Aug and just have watch the team progressively collapse since then. First time in 15 years I’m seriously considering giving them up
@NYM_News That’s a failure, the team is worse than the one they came into the offseason with. At this point, Tucker, Suarez and Two top line starters are the minimum for an acceptable offseason
the debate isn't whether or not the Mets made a good "baseball decision" its the fact that they seem so out of touch with their fanbase - the fanbase that just set a team record for attendance when the owner called them out - Fans were told the owner was one of them but turns out the moves they made don't support that. Attendance will be down 10%-20% this year - There aren't enough bobbleheads to change that either.
@TonyMetroMLB Don’t disagree, I think Diaz is seperate from the other two because he’s legit one of if not the best closers in the game, when you have the richest owner in the sport you shouldn’t be losing those guys
As angry as I am about Diaz, I’m very okay with Pete to Baltimore. He was a great Met, but he’s older, a poor glove, and a build that will not age well. This was the correct guy to stand strong at 3 years… but stearns better have something cooking
@SNYtv@SteveGelbs, first question. How do you justify it to Mets fans that you lost our closer over $3 million? Second question, when are you signing Pete Alonso? Third, how are fans supposed to get excited about a team that is objectively worse after Cohen promised it'd be better?
@SNY_Mets Nothing says ambitious about winning like going into last season without a complete starting rotation, including missing an ace. Nor do teams focused on winning let the best player at their position walk away (which he’s done twice).
Isn't the point of having Steve Cohen as your owner so that you don't have to lose your own players like Jacob deGrom, Edwin Díaz and (potentially) Pete Alonso?
I'm genuinely at a loss right now, man.
