SE is a zero bc they want to sell some cloud capacity as a small tangential business while trading at mid teens PE multiple & tons of cash. SPCX is worth $10T because theyโre going to sell 100GW at $50/GW peak spot pricing forever while diluting you and raising debt. Good market
I have seen this pattern for years now.
Wannabe experts, without any direct industry experience: "It's such an obvious bubble."
Insiders working with AI every day: "This shortage is unprecedented and won't be solved any time soon."
I have always trusted the second group because the numbers back it up. So far, that was a great decision.
Of course, there are risks. I don't like the on-and-off-balance debt taken on, obviously. Duh!
But you can always point to negatives all the time. It will make you sound smart but often, it won't make you much money.
How much money would the "smart" Michael Burry have lost? The only time he made a big win was on a bullish $NVDA trade, not on his multiple bearish AI bubble calls.
Elon on the $SPCX earnings call:
โAt current pricing, new compute deployments are generating a payback of less than a year."
"We could rent out our compute several times over if we said yes to everyone."
"I do not think we are going to have a demand issue here. I am not saying this will happen, it is not impossible that we will have a six-month payback period for compute next year."
And you are bearish on semis? ๐
$NVDA
$NET Cloudflare says more than 10 million developers now build on Workers, up from 7.4 million the quarter before.
Daily requests from AI agents on its network grew more than 1,700% in a year. ๐คฏ
Long since $39, long for much longer.
PS: yes, the stock is expensive now.
Often my wife is reading next to me at the start of the day, classical music playing. Concentration mode 100%.
When she's doing sth else, I put up my music. That's often metal. Try that at the office, haha.
I'm home when our daughter comes home from school and the first thing is always a hug (she's 12, so that may change soon, haha).
And I have 5 very good friends. Not pals, but friends, you know, those you can call at 3 am if you need them. All live within 20 minutes of where I live. There are almost no days we don't send messages and there are almost no weeks I don't see at least one of them, mostly a few and mostly a few times a week.
That's so much better than colleagues, because you may like a few but dislike others, and assholes usually take up too much space in my brain.
Solid $HIMS earnings writeup by @FromValue.
Not everyone achieves the balance of length + depth in their analysis.
It's just long enough to hit all the essentials while giving the important details behind the face value numbers, which in this case weren't all favorable. As always, context is everything.
@Alexblomblom@SixSigmaCapital Why would I pay for an office when I can do it at home, without going somewhere, without being annoyed by other people, without noises I can't stand, etc?

@DrewCohenMoney Still conservative if mgmt targets 2% to 3% EBITDA margin. That's probably like 1.75% to 2.75% EBIT or so.
But with the investments in the cloud, that plan could be in the freezer for a while, of course. ๐
@DrewCohenMoney OK, then it was already taken out in the denominator.
So, that means closer to 1% on the reported GMV, right? Or put differently, it's EBIT/adjusted GMV, right?
@MikeFritzell I looked at $TSLA in 2016. I was interested in buying the stock then, but the balance sheet showed was a dead man walking. Elon later admitted that they were just 2 or 3 weeks away from bankruptcy in 2016.
It's also when he went to Tim Cook to sell the company to $AAPL.
$SHOP's CTO Mikhail Parakhin leaves after just 2 years.
Mikhail Parakhin will become an advisor to the company. He is a former Yandex (now $NBIS) CTO and had several roles at $MSFT, including CEO of advertising and web services.
Parakhin has deep expertise in AI and ML.
It's not clear why he is leaving, let alone who will replace them.
Tobi Lรผtke himself has acknowledged he is much more into code mode again. Is that the reason?
