I want to profusely thank all the lovers of Lagos, all of whom have refused to major on the minor.
Thank you for the outpouring of love and support. Your encouragement gives me the energy, courage and faith to keep believing that, one day, our country will be great.
As usual, the APC has resorted to its familiar strategy of distraction. Its loudest voices are not talking about the impact of their government on the people of Lagos. They are not telling Lagosians how they have made their lives better. They are not talking about the state of our roads, the worsening flooding, the housing crisis, the lack of reliable public water, the traffic crisis or the growing filth across our city.
Instead, they want us to major on the minor.
They did the same thing in 2023. And despite all their claims, they still resorted to thuggery, intimidation and violence to force their way into office. It was state-sanctioned terrorism using the same culture of thuggery that remains one of the biggest problems confronting ordinary Lagosians today.
Why won’t the APC confront this problem?
Because they depend on the same thugs and the same culture of political violence to force their way into power. When a political party knows that it cannot win the confidence of the people on the strength of its record, it becomes dependent on intimidation and coercion.
Our roads are worse. Flooding has become a bigger problem. Rents have continued to rise, while affordable housing remains grossly inadequate.
They have effectively given up on solving the traffic crisis. Now, instead of admitting failure and fixing the problem, they tell us that traffic is a “lifestyle.”
There is no reliable supply of public water. And in many parts of Lagos, the city is as dirty as it was under Governor Tinubu.
Under Governor Fashola, Lagos was operating more than 1,000 PSP trucks. After more than 12 years, you would expect the system to have expanded significantly. Instead, we are now down to roughly 200 trucks.
Why?
Because the problem is not simply a lack of trucks. It is a system that has been weakened by corruption, poor management and alleged racketeering around diesel, truck leasing and waste collection.
That is why Lagos stinks.
And this is the point I want Lagosians to focus on: we must stop allowing them to change the subject.
The question is not who can shout the loudest. The question is, after all these years in power, have they made Lagos better for the ordinary Lagosian?
That is the conversation we should be having.
That is the conversation they want us to avoid.
And that is exactly the conversation we must continue to have.
Let's make Eko Great Again
So no light in most parts of the mainland today ????????
And Una dey use devices wey una charge with 1500 per litre fuel do bigotry and tribalism?? 😭😭😭😭

You see, when I was in England, I could vote. I was invited for council meetings to share my opinion. I regularly got letter from my elected representative at the House of Commons keeping me updated on policies.
But idiots think I can't have a say on a state election where I was born and raised. Your real papa dey mad.
If Seyi Tinubu cannot speak Yoruba fluently but decides to run for governor in this same Lagos, the same people piling on GRV for not being fluent in Yoruba will go back on their words. They have no honor. Don't let anybody whine you.
I bought fuel yesterday in Toronto, Canada, at $1.7999 CAD per litre, and it cost about $98.95 CAD to fill up my tank. This should ideally last me about a week or more.
Now, the minimum wage in Canada is $17.95 CAD per hour, which means someone who works an average of 8 hours a day will earn $143.60 CAD before tax. A day's salary is enough to fuel his or her car for 2–3 weeks. This means that even one of the lowest earners in Canada can afford to own and drive a car daily without the cost of fuel becoming an overwhelming burden. Public education for children is also free and of high quality.
In Nigeria, fuel is about ₦1,300 per litre. It would cost about ₦88,000 to fill up a similar tank. The minimum wage in Nigeria is ₦70,000 per month. This means that an entire month's minimum wage cannot even fill the tank once.
A minimum-wage earner in Nigeria cannot realistically afford to own, fuel, and maintain a car. The same person still has to afford food, rent, children's education, healthcare, electricity, transportation, and other basic necessities. The list goes on.
In fact, even a bank manager in Nigeria earning ₦1 million monthly could still struggle to maintain a decent standard of living after covering these basic expenses.
This is one reason poverty is so widespread in Nigeria. The cost of basic living is simply too high relative to what the average person earns.
You don't just have an income problem in Nigeria. You have an affordability problem.
For millions of Nigerians, simply living a decent life has become too expensive and increasingly impossible.
Anyway. Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Idoma, Ibibio, Isoko, Ijaw, Izon, Auchi, Esan, Bini, Izhi, TiV…
We don’t have light.
Fuel is expensive.
And they are still killing people like flies in Plateau.
Agberos are still a nuisance in Lagos.
And soludo is still governor.
Kogi State has to be the longest state I've passed through to any state. Once you enter Kogi State, even with very good speed, you're not out until after 4 hours.
Ozark wey for episode 1, Del don first pop Chuck and him accomplices for stealing his money. Was about to pop Marty too before Marty talked his way out of it. The cheating wife, having to sell all his property to pay Del, moving his family to the Ozarks immediately. Wetin gan gan slow for there?
The issue is you guys like shoot shoot or fight fight TV well well, not every show is going to be like Lioness😂
Now that Amad will potentially be back in full training and available for the first team after the international break, Michael Carrick needs to understand something.
STOP COMPLICATING THIS TEAM.
The left-wing options should be Matheus Cunha and Marcus Rashford.
Nobody else.
If Cunha isn't playing on the left wing, he should be on the bench. It's that simple.
Left wing: Cunha or Rashford.
The striker options should be Benjamin Šeško and Bryan Mbeumo.
If Šeško isn't available, Mbeumo starts up front.
Zirkzee should only play as the central forward if both Šeško and Mbeumo are unavailable.
Then there's the right wing.
Amad Diallo starts.
If Amad isn't available, Shea Lacey starts.
And please, stop playing Mbeumo on the right wing.
That's not his game.
Mbeumo isn't a traditional wide forward. He's an inside forward who naturally drifts into central areas and operates between the lines, almost like a false nine.
So why keep forcing him out wide?
The options are ridiculously simple:
LW: Rashford / Cunha
ST: Šeško / Mbeumo
RW: Amad / Lacey
That's it.
Michael Carrick needs to stop making this Manchester United team look more complicated than it actually is.
Stop complicating things for Manchester United. Stop complicating things for yourself.
There are numbers you can only touch in La Liga, Bundesliga and co.
In the Premier League they just don’t exist.
Suarez scored 69 in 110 in England then went to Barcelona and hit 40 in a single La Liga season.
Ronaldo’s best Premier League year was 31. He went to Madrid and started putting up 40, 46, 48.
That’s why Haaland is a freak.
117 in 137 in this league. Fastest to 100. Three golden boots in four seasons. He’s doing La Liga numbers in a league that doesn’t allow La Liga numbers.
If football was fair he’d have two or three Ballon d’Ors by now. The fact he doesn’t tells you more about the award than it does about him.
Reminds me of Joseph Stalin, the Russian dictator who once came to a Politburo meeting holding a chicken in his hand. During the meeting, he began plucking its feathers one by one. The helpless chicken cried out in pain, but he continued until every feather had been removed.
When the chicken was completely naked, Stalin let it go. He then took out some chicken feed from his pocket and began to feed the chicken from his palm. After sometime, Stalin walked away. Surprisingly, the chicken followed him wherever he went. And even when he sat down, the chicken quietly climbed onto his lap and sat there.
Stalin then explained to his surprised Party members; "This chicken represents the people. You must torture them, brutalize them, and take everything away from them. Then when you give them a little, just peanuts, they will treat you like a hero and worship you."
