미국은 원전에 진심으로 투자하는중이다.

미국에서 나온 원자력 행정명령 초안에 따르면 현대 원자력 발전 용량이 100기가와트인데 이를 2040년까지 400기가와트로 확대하겠다고 한다.

미국이 얼마나 원전에 진심이냐고 묻는다면

1) 미국의 군대가 차세대 원전 건설에 자금을 지원하도록 하는 것을 고려하고 있다

2) AI와 데이터센터를 국방 핵심 인프라로 지정하려고 행정명령에 담았다

라고 답할 수 있을듯 하다.

나아가서 현재 미국의 원전은 새로운 연구가 감소함으로 2017년 이후 설치된 원자로의 87%가 중국과 러시아의 디자인에 기반한다. 미국은 미래를 준비하기 위해 이런 상황은 이제 계속되어서 안된다며 “신속하고 단호한 조치”를 하자는 상황이다.

이런 상황에 최근 한국의 다수 의석을 차지한 민주당은 앞으로 재생에너지를 중심으로, 원전은 주수적으로 가져가자고 하는 상황이다. 이게 맞는 것일까..?

국가적으로 본다면 심각히 걱정되는 상황이고 투자를 한다면 그냥 마음 편하게 미국 원전 주식을 사는게 정답일듯 하다.
