Got a win last night at the @FromeChess Congress Round 1
In a double edged game, my opponent recaptured on g6 with the wrong pawn and had to resign after my next move.
Can you see the easiest win for white?
The 33rd Frome Chess Congress commences at 7pm this evening. Follow all results from our FIDE Open and the other 4 tournaments at Chess Results. https://t.co/TsWAx1GKme
A rather chilly outdoor meeting for the Frome Chess Congress committee last night. But some changes have been suggested that should make the Congress better than ever. Remember the dates 17th - 19th May 2024.
These lovely chess benches are in Victoria Park and free to use at any time. Bring your own chess pieces or head to Victoria Park Café and ask to borrow theirs. Great way to spend time outdoors and meet new people!

Our thanks to all the players for a great Congress this year. Special thanks to the fabulous caterers; to @ChessAndBridge for providing the sets; and to the organising and arbiting team. Same again next year?
@ClubEpsom@ChessAndBridge It seems @TrowbridgeChess B won the team competition. Names of all winners will go on the web site once we have verified them. Watch this space: https://t.co/NdHk0mB1Vr

Confirmation that GM Keith Arkell (2390) won the Frome Open 2023 with 4.5/5. Oleksandr Matlak (no FIDE rating) and Theo Khoury (2014) finished equal second on 4/5. Well done all.
