We have heard the concerns and with careful consideration involving all stakeholders, please note the following update to the parental leave rules: https://t.co/aFXrgAImME
Timing a pregnancy can be stressful and difficult for a lot of women athletes. A rule that discriminates against some women competing in the same national field is troubling. Please give everyone the same opportunity @CurlingCanada
@Darkzwyd@CurlingCanada Why even make this statement at all, @CurlingCanada? Nobody cares about Laura Walker coming in to play on Team Wildcard. Why not just say that ALL TEAMS are eligible to make pregnancy and injury exemption requests? Unless another team request was rejected based on their rank? 🧐
@Darkzwyd@CurlingCanada We’re not saying anyone would, but this is just one of many examples of @CurlingCanada making up rules as they go to justify cherry picking top ranked players and sidelining others who seemingly won’t produce a gold medal.
Picked up a win this afternoon - not without some sacrifice! Check out @Jason_Ginter22 finding out how slippery the ice was the hard way 🥴
Back on tomorrow against Team Sato from Japan at 8:30am PST at the link below!

Completely gutted by this news. We are so so sorry for Jamie & Bob’s family and for all of those who knew and loved them. You are in our thoughts and prayers. 🖤
@hock_13@curlinggeek Professional Teams/Leagues/Athletes have:
- Agents
- Office/coaching staff
- Revenue from ticket sales/advertising/ratings
- Contracts
- Media teams
- Lots of other cool stuff
They do not have:
- To beg for participation
We are still a long way from pro.
@hock_13@curlinggeek I see your point, but curling is not a professional sport. It’s not like being selected as an NBA all-star has a major impact on your team’s funding for the season.
