@FlyFrontier
I booked a round-trip flight with Frontier Airlines for my entire family and paid extra for seat selection specifically so we could sit together and so my child could enjoy a daytime flight by sitting next to the window.
When we boarded, we discovered that seat 40A had NO window at all.
I also paid extra for checked baggage.
Before our return flight, while at the airport, I contacted Frontier customer service and explained the situation. The response I received was basically: “Thank you for your feedback, but since the flight already boarded, we cannot refund anything.”
I asked for any reasonable accommodation:
- Refund for the seat selection on the return flight
- Refund for the checked bag
- Any customer-service gesture
Everything was denied.
I even asked to speak with a supervisor. I was placed on hold for a very long time, disconnected, and had to call again.
The second representative claimed it was “obvious” during seat selection that row 40 does not have a window. But nowhere was this clearly stated. As someone with UX design experience, I know that if critical information is not obvious to normal users, the design has failed.
Selling a “window seat” without a window is like selling a car that doesn’t run.
And then our return flight, originally scheduled for 9:16 PM, was delayed first to 10:53 PM and then again until 1:00 AM.
This is exactly how airlines lose loyal customers. And will go out of business.
